Titan Problems Perspective

There has been a lot of good information on this site; the one thing I have a problem with is getting perspective on problems. For example: there have been a lot of radio problems but how many don't have radio problems? How many Titans are represented that have never had a problem?

Is there a way to set up some kind of matrix to give an overall view representing all Titans?

Something like:

Problem: Minor: Major: None: Total:

Radio 2 3 50 55
Dash Squeaks 1 0 54 55
Engine Noise 0 1 54 55
Etc.....
Etc.....

This may not be possible or may be too much trouble; just a thought...........

Otherwise please just keep up the good work!

Paul

PS: Sorry I can't get this to line up; hope you get the idea.

Titan TALK

I agree with Briarman. I think we should put the "talk" in TitanTalk and create a chat where you could talk (type) to other members Live. It would probably be a blast! It woud also be very useful for quicker answers to problems/questions. And it will even enhance our discussion on our favorite topics
Anyone else agree?

I think you do a great job i just think more categories narrowing things down would help everyone. Not too many just enough to handle off the major topics. A section specifically for buying and costs to help new members with that info.

TITANtalk.com stickers

Has anyone entertained the idea of selling TITANtalk.com stickers? I did not find anything in a search, so I apologize in advance if this has already been brought up. Nice, cut vinyl ones would be great! Might help to attract more visitors to the site. I, for one, would be proud to promote TITANtalk.com in my rear window!

I thought about having the print shop that cut my boat numbers make a www.titantalk.com sticker but then I thought that it might attract a lot of trolls to our forum. What do you guys think?

If it was a static cling type I wouldn't have any problem putting a TitanTalk banner on my bumper.

Two ideas come to mind I've mentined before:

1. A parts supplier review forum. Where we post good/bad experiences with dealers.

2. A TSB/Recall forum. TitanParts1 seems to have all that info very handy and has already posted a couple. A special forum specifically for these would be great.

Would it be possible to add vehicle information from the author's profile in place of a signature when a signature is not used. Messages are often meaningful only after checking the profile to see what options the author's vehicle has. For example: reports of MPG without mention of 2WD/4WD or Big Tow etc.

Mostly, I really like the way that the discussion areas are broken up. The only thing that I would really like to see is once you enter a discussion area where all of the various threads are, it says who created the thread, but it does not say the date that the thread was originally produced. I find myself often wondering that. That would be really nice. Other than that, I love this place.

We seem to have three groups of people who use Titans. The Go fast folks, the off road folks and the work tow folks. How about seperate sections for the three groups?

Thanks for the opportunity to offer input

I suggest we open a new area for meetings, rallys, etc. Just seems a little more logical and everyone could go to one location for the threads. It seems counterproductive to have a bunch in stickys and others throughout the general discussions.

Ditto JD1973's comments.

I think this place serves its purpose well. Don't be afraid to ask members for donations - this type of thing takes money and your time to do. I'd be glad to give a few bucks out.

Go ahead, flame away...

I just want post counts back or something like average posts per day, something, anything...

I know there are those who think this is just for people who want to post a lot to drive up their number, or whoring. I however as a moderator on another forum find them to be extremely helpful to evaluate the content of the post as well as the author.

It does not take a nuclear engineer to figure out that people posting with a bunch of one liners or just some smilies who have a high post number are having fun and doing a little whoring. Of course is you see a reply that seems well written, well thought out and contains some real insight and that person has a high post number, it is easy to conclude the author is genuinely interested in helping and is really passionate about their truck. And for me, those are the members I like to look for because I value their input.

I know I'm talking to the wall and many of you are just going to :****onmyidea: but still the same, you asked the question and I gave a very honest answer with what I believe to be a good explanation for my opinion.

I agree because the post count can sometimes reflect the sincerity of the one who is posting. Being a member on other forums the community will react and somewhat control trolls or not react to trolls.

On the boat web site a person who comes on and makes a complaint on his/her very first post will get flamed by the community. However, when you see a member with several hundred post he carries a greater amount of credibility and is respected by the community if does make a complaint. It just seems to take a natural order of hiearchy.

Just my thought as well.
