It's Time for TitanTalk to Grow Up

So far this has been an absolutely wonderful site. However, as many new members join this site daily, I think that it is about time that the web site should be broken out into more granular categories. Something like: Tires/wheels, engine and drivetrain, problems, audio/video, aftermarket, suspension/brakes, truck care, etc. It just seems like many topics (sometimes important) are lost in the mix quickly. Also I have seen several topics repeated over and over again in threads with very similar titles (i.e. radio fades in and out).

I would be more than willing to help monitor the site as a volunteer (or Junior) Moderator. Maybe elect individual moderators for each subject area. I think that will help break up the moderating duties and allow some members to become more involved in the site that they helped create through posting.

Guys, these are just some thoughts but I would really like to see this site grow.

i 2nd that , i think that would help out alot
we could have all the gurus for each topic step up, such as wheel/tires, audio etc...and if they're willing, make them moderators.

i dont like moderators, they promote the C word... we do need to break things up a bit, too many "radio fading" posts are popping up, people don't research before they post.

A great example of broken down forums for trucks is the http://www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com forum. They really have it broken down and great resource stickies, not to mention site stuff to buy and site club decal for your ride that looks pretty sweet. Just FYI.

The forums have been broken up slightly, I have created a technical discussion area with 3 categories in it.

There is a fine line that must be walked when you break up a forum.. yes, its nice to have neat little categories for everything... but its not so nice to miss a good nugget of information simply because you were looking in the wrong category.

Ekool,

I think this 'current' breakout is perfect. Thanks! I do agree that too many would 'lose' a lot of valuable info.

I couldn't agree more. TundraSolutions is badly suffering from this. There's about a zillion categories, and it seems a daunting task to search them all. I liked that site much better when it was simpler!

From what I've seen most of us are so "addicited" to this site the "New Posts" button up top works fine. I never go into site rules/updates on sites, but the with the current volume the new post works fine (just don't miss more than a day or two).
