NEW Members post here please.

Ok all, if you are a new member or just bought a Titan please post your stories in this thread. No disrespect but I think the board is getting too many "just took delivery" or "just bought a Titan" threads. Makes it hard to find threads about the trucks themselves. I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, just hoping this will streamline things on the board. Thanks. BTW, congrats to all the new Titan owners and welcome to the site...you will love it here.

EHEM.....I didn't see your name on the list of Forum Leaders, so, no disrespect or anything, but please don't push rules around in these forums unless you are God Himself, or more simply, a moderator

Howie,

Chill man, I am guilty of also posting a thread similar to "just took delivery" but it just gets a little tiresome to read basically the same type of post over and over again when there is so much more to talk about. It just seems like on a daily basis there is another person posting about how they just got their Titan. This is just getting worse as more and more people are buying these trucks. My only wish/hope/suggestion was that there would be a common thread where people can post their Titan purchase experiences and where we could all welcome them with open arms. Nothing more. I will step off of my high horse now, and hope that you will do the same. No need to be negative though.

i understand your intent, nothing wrong with it....However, there is organization to running forums; which involves contacting moderators or posting in the "suggestions" area about things which might need to be changed or different ways of posting certain threads. Didn't want to sound negative....no hard feelings

Yeah, I know about the whole organization thing and yes I started a thread regarding some more organization and topic break-outs on this board. It just seems like none of the suggestions regarding this site are implemented. I guess it is ekool that moderates this site, I just wish he would break out individual topics. This site is growing too fast and I think we would all benefit if there was an easier way to narrow down the topics we were most interested in.

Here is the thread that I started in case anyone wants to add some suggestions: http://titantalk.com/showthread.php?t=9576

Hopefully some of our ideas will be put in place as I see some very good suggestions.

Cheers Howie

Im with you Howie Kaluha. Those statements are for the site owner as a suggestion. There is no direction that should be taken from other members. We live better together when we give suggestions as a whole. You also posted pretty much the same thing in the proper section of the forum (Site News/Rules/Updates). I think it is your approach when giving these suggestions, you sound like you are a mod instructing us on where and how to post. NO offense at all man just simmer down and relax on those threads.

Im giving this as a suggestion as stated below are the rules of posting setup by the admin, and it does state that you can speak your mind.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

titanTalk.com Forum Rules

The forum rules are very simple. There really arent many rules. Keep your posts in the proper section, and you are free to say what you want.

Post a warning on all threads that are not work safe, such as (NWS) and keep them in the off topic sections.

Also, if the content is gross or disgusting, please note that as well.

We believe in free speech, so even if someone comes here talking really bad about the Titan, they have a right to say that.

Follow these simple rules and you will not have a problem!

Thx.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Above is from ekool the admin of this great site. We thank you ekool.

Let the fun begin!

Well boys.....let the fun & games begin!!! I picked up my Radiant Silver Titan SE C.C. today!!! Had the dealer tint the front 2 windows to match the rear, put on the nerf bars for the wife to get in and out easier, had the stoneguard protective film put on the hood & front end, got the foul weather floor mats (Rains alot here in the northwest), and had them put in a Line-X bedliner!!!! Man, is this truck great!!! I was the only the 3rd person ever to drive my truck! I happened to be stopping by the other day to check status when the delivery truck showed up with my baby on board! I love the "offroad" package by the way, the bigger tires look cool, and the suspension mods & skid plates will come in handy during hunting season! Tomorrow I get to order the new LSII hard tonneau with remote access, and it only takes 2 weeks for delivery!!! And for all you salesmen out there, I paid $1 under invoice for the truck but I paid $1595 for the gold preferred extended warranty coverage to 7 years/100,000 miles, so hopefully the dealership will make enough to stay in business (ha, ha). And just so you all know, my rear seat center seat belt tensioner didn't work worth a s__t the minute I checked it at delivery time!!! But it was probably worn out as the truck already had 11 miles on it. I'm sure that Nissan will be doing a recall of some sort on this part fellas, be patient.........Anyway, just happy to be an "official" member of the club now, and not just waiting for nirvana. Man I love this truck!

Hilzy feel free to post in the general section. This was a thread created by a member not the admin. The members rarely read this section, especally if the person labeled it "NEW Members post here please".If your new and want to voice the big grin on your face the section read most often and replyed to daily by members is in the general section. Congrats on the titan man. The add-ons you have planned sound great. If i were you id just copy and paste what you said there to share your excitment.

Hearty congrats, Hilzy! You're gonna really love your Titan...be sure to post some pics! Great to have you with us...and another hunter, no less...if this keeps up, we'll need to request that a hunting section be added to the forum so we can talk hunting!

tikigod,

Since you also are not a mod, I think you should let the new members post where they want to, no need for you to direct them where you want. I believe you are doing the same thing you claimed I did by suggesting where people post. Did I force anyone to post there? Also you do not need to jack this thread. If ekool didn't want it here, I'm sure he would of deleted it.

BTW, I am very relaxed

Hilzy,

Sounds great! When are you going to have pics up for us? Also what does remote access mean on your tonneau?

Well I'm a newbie here, joined yesterday. I'm not yet a Titan owner, and suspect it will be just about this time next year that I am. The delay is in part due to the delayed introduction of the locking rear diff, and I need to pay off that little yellow thing in my avatar first...

I was helping the members out with a false pretence you led them on, you notice there is less then half the response then if he were to post where the the majority posts and where the new members can share there joy with the rest of the forum. The rest of the forum doesnt seem to have a problem reading the posts like yourself, i guess if that was the case you wouldnt be the only one that posted such a DIRECTION for posts."NEW Members post here please" is a direction thread meant for a admin only. Just because you dont feel like weeding out posts doesnt mean you can tell other memebers what to do. You mentioned i was the same as you, man comeon far from it, i gave a suggestion so that the new members weren' t tricked into thinking this is the only place new members can post. I never created a thread that said "NEW Members post in general section please" Becasue i let them make up their own mind. And neither did i tell you what to do, i only mentioned that it wasnt a good idea and on the grounds of the free speach of this forum i can make suggestions as you can post this misleading thread. If you really believe what you wrote then your thread wouldnt have started with a direction. Becasue new members have any idea who you are.
If your so free with posting such threads then you should have no problem with me informing members that what they are looking for is to introduce themselves and get some feedback to see if this is the place they want to keep poisting. you look at the intros here and there is less then a handful, you check the area they might have been looking for but were steered by a post telling them to post here they got less responses and said hey to you and a few others. You say it ekool didnt want this he would have deleted it well go and PM him and see if he will take the time to research where new members post and see if the fact that 1 person doesnt feel like weeding them out is enough for him to create a new section for new members to post, then man there is nothing more to talk about and there is nothing more for me to chime in about, the problem is solved your more comfy with your forum reading and the new members also get what they want "to introduce themselves to the rest of the forum"

Btw I too am relaxed thanks for sharing. So feel free to tear into me if thats what you really want to do, your free to do so im not directing you or misleading you. Im not a mod nor the admin so i wont be telling you where to post or what to post. Im just sitting here with a beer and this post being the last thing on my mind.
