Anyone have thoughts/advice on where best to have my tow hitch needs addressed? I have been told to just go to UHaul but for some reason I am skeptical...
Just bought my SE King Offroad....best vehicle I have ever owned....I am in Maine and the Titan is loving all the snow in the mountains....

Go to the dealer. The OE Hitch is about $225.00. The key is that comes with 2 relays for your tow harness. These relays if purchased separtely could be upto $80 bucks. It takes about 15-20 mins to bolt on. Plus it will look better......
I bought a valley hitch $135.00 and I bought the unversal plug at O'reilly's for $12.95 (circular to 4 pin) took me 3 minutes to put them on (air tools)

I've got the Hidden Hitch, I prefered the look over the oem square tube. BTW, the 2 relays that come with Nissan hitch are for electric trailor brakes, not lights. The SE and LE are already wired for lights, all you need is the plug ($12).

Sammy, Did you also get the T connector for trailer running lights like the website suggests? Since my Titan is pre-wired is that something I would need?

No, I just got a plug adapter from the dealership, but I've been told that late model GM trucks use the same plug as well.
Here's a picture of the adapter with the Nissan part number:
I bought a 7 to 4 flat connector like the one Sammy shows(for trailers w/o brakes), and a 7 to 5 round connector (for trailers w/ brakes), both from AutoZone in the price range of $10-12 each. These adapters cover the waterfront for me.

One relay is for running lights, the other is for the brakes. Your brake and turn signals will work without the relay but your running lights will not work unless your have the relay.

I used the one from my 98 dodge and cannot get the light to come on. Do you know if the Nissan is wired different ground..(float type)
That I couldn't say for certain. I do know there was another TitanTalk member who used a late model GM oem to 7pin adapter that worked fine. Otherwise the Nissan adapter is your other choice, and it's only $12.

Tagjet, I believe all of the 7 pin to 4 pin flat adapters are the same (except some have the middle ground pin, which the 4 pin flat connector doesn't use). Theoretically, the adapter should work. I would do the following in sequential order until they work: 1) check the 4 pin trailer connector output using a test light or VOM (using the tail lights and turn signals, this will also tell you which pin is which); 2) check to make sure your trailer is grounded through the trailer electrical plug (don't assume because the trailer is hooked up to the ball hitch that you have a good ground); 3) check the installation of the bulbs to make sure they are making good contact and are all good bulbs; and 4) check trailer wiring by using a test light or VOM at the tail lights. Good luck!

Try your turn signals. If they work then you need the relay or if you have the relay then you might have a bad fuse.

I plug the same connector to my other vehicle which has a 4pin connector with no problem. When I use the adapter on my Titan nothing works..
i bought a uhaul hitch and put on my Titan and it looks great.when i bought my 4 flat wiring kit from autozone and put it on i had turn signals and brake lights but no running lights.I then went to nissan and bought a relay switch plugged it in and wham bam it works great now.what im wondering is if i bought the other relay switch for the brakes and bought a different wiring harness the has the 7 round plug and tried using it on a trailer that has brakes.can i use the brakes on the trailer then without having to buy a trailer brake box and mounting it in my truck??????????????
