I'm thinking that some kind of names in a hat would probably be the fairest way to do it.... I hear that there are some "professional" drinkers out there...

OK. We can also add your name in that hat but you've got to be there!! Deal?

But we now need to narrow down our choices of places and pinpoint a date. Interested parties' attendance & opinions are being solicited.

So far here's the list of interested members:

buzzkillwill (!)
Clancy (!)
TOK (!)
PuvMan (!)
Carteach0
jhromy (?) no commitment yet.
steves (!)
gr8Titan. (!)

You guys think it's now OK to agree on a place and specific date?

Count me in I live in Vineland, NJ. I think the Valley Forge area would be good. Not as far as allentown for the members farther south. Just pm me when its going to happen.

How about the weekend of July 9th? I'll be headed out to Bloomington, IN over the 4th.
Picnic area at Valley Forge park seems the most popular so far? http://www.nps.gov/vafo/rec/picnic.html
I'm not sure what the rules are about grilling/cooking. I will have to attempt to investigate. Do you think we would qualify as a "large group?"

We don't qualify as a large group, and trust me, we don't want to go that route.

The park would be a good choice. You can 'grill' there, but the grill must be off the ground, preferably a propane. Also, if someone wants to drink, that would NOT be the place to do it.

I notice there's three picnic sites, which one will we meet at?

But I can make the 9th-works for me!!!

Ball is in your court steves. I guess no one has rulled out Valley Forge so it will be the first choice(?). It may actually be a good site for the Ladies as they may want to go shopping at the VF Mall on the way home.

With RU2112SH and titanse05 attending, there's about 10 already on the list. Let's get it going!!! July 10th (Sunday) is OK with me. How's that date for everybody?

I can take care of the cooler and sodas (since I'm local).

I was thinking that we would want to try for either Varnum's (Rt 23) or Wayne's Woods (Outerline Drive). The one at Betzwood is on the other side of the river, and slightly more difficult to provide directions to.

Sunday July 10th meet @ 11:30-12:00?

Oh, if anyone needs any information about the local area let me know and I can try to track it down for you.

Also, Here's a google map that should help you get familliar with the area.
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=food+k...0.113429&hl=en
Basic easiest directions Take the PA Turnpike to exit 327/N Gulph Rd.
Follow N Gulph Rd for about 2 miles (along PA-422).
N Gulph Rd intersects PA-23.
(From Allentown, PA http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=40.09...PA+19481&hl=en)
Once we track down the site, I should be able to give better directions.
