Question Looking for a good dealer in PA.

Hello,

I am looking for a reputable Nissan dealership for the S.E. PA. region. I currently live in Chadds Ford which is about 30 minutes south of Philly and 10 minutes north of Delaware. If you know of any good dealerships or ones to stay away from I would be very thankful for the info. I do have a dealership within 10 minutes of my house but I do not want to limit my options. I will be buying a Titan in the fall and want to start researching now. Thanks.

I had a very good experience at Conicelli Nissan on Ridge Pike just outside of Norristown. The dealers name was Bruce Maloney, and he was part of the "internet sales team."

I had also contacted Sloan Nissan, but they didn't have the truck I wanted. When I started talking about a price lower than MSRP he said "Maybe you can't afford this truck and should look elsewhere." Which I did.

My suggestion would be to go the nissan site, and find the truck you want. Just remember that you might not be able to get all the options exactly the way you want them. Then contact that dealerships internet sales department.

They will usually quote you a price better than MSRP, but not great. Don't forget to ask about incentives.

PM me if you need the phone number for Conicelli or need other information.

I found Conicelli to be rude. They misquoted big time and then retracted by switching reps on me. I crossed them off after that.

Sloane - I spoke with Anthony over there. Like Steve, they didn't have the selection and pretty much had the same respones.

I spoke to Dave Polocino at CR Loughead and he seemed willing to make a deal (although I never met in person)

I bought mine at Peruzzi in Langhorne PA. I can't help but feeling like every dealer is a skunk, and they didn't let me down by having options listed on all the trucks that weren't even there... Pinstripes, wheel locks and everyone's favorite -Paint Sealant.
Once they found out I was serious about buying, it wasn't much trouble making all that crap go away. They treated me fairly and respectfully. If you don't want to haggle, I'd say avoid them, but if you have some time and don't mind negotiating, you can get a good deal. They did have a good selection of trucks on the lot.

I've also heard good things about Conicelli's parts department, but didn't look at trucks there. I did look at O'Neil on Street Road. All they had on the lot were loaded LE's when I was there. I think the lowest sticker I saw was $34,900.

PS to add: I saw in your profile you have a Tacoma. I also have a 99 Taco. The info I heard about Conicelli's parts department being good was for the Toyota department. You have good taste in trucks!

Fortunately but unfortunatelyI just sold my Taco. It is a great truck and will be on the road for a long time but I want to upgrade to the Titan in the fall. Good luck w/ your Tacoma and thanks for the info.

I wish I could recommend a dealer for you, but the only statement I could make is that I would be extremely hesitant to purchase another vehicle from Montgomeryville Nissan again.

When I got there to pick up the vehicle, they tried to rush me to cut them the check and sign the paperwork before I even saw the vehicle. I told them I wanted to see the vehicle first. When I saw the vehicle, there were several problem (besides glue and dirt/tar on the exterior - gasket/molding had come off for the door sill as well as a stain I told them about the day before on the front seat).

I had send the vehicle back 4 times at pick up to get it cleaned - they still had glue residue all over the chrome bumper from the "protectant" tape. They didn't even bother cleaning off the pollen dust covering the back bed. When I mentioned cleaning out the bed - they looked at me funny and said that they didn't want to delivery the truck to me when it is wet.

I had even offered to give them more time and pick up the vehicle a couple of days later, but each time the said it should be just 10 more minutes (I had my 3 year old with me and we were well past his nap time).

What they had promised to be a 30 minute delivery event turned into 3+ hours - that doesn't even count the 3 hours I spent the nite before negotiating the deal.

I wound up complaining to the genearl manager the next day and got a promise from them that they would make it up to me by giving me a deal on some accessories I was looking for (at cost). I asked them for the bug/hood protector and running boards. 3+ weeks later, I get an email from them saying that my contact is no longer with them and to contact someone else. It's now another week later and still nothing.

That's why I am extremely doubtful I would ever make another purchase from Montgomeryville Nissan.

Wanna take a drive?

Your question is easy for me, as I had a GREAT experience at Eisenhaur Nissan in Wernersville on 422.

Talk to Bob Strauss. 610-678-8071. Tell him Art Welling gave you the name.

I had an excellent buying experience there and found Bob (and everyone else I talked to there) to be very straight forward with no BS.

I was there this morning for my first warrantee service. They performed the brake TSB on my truck with nothing more to go on but my say so. I told them my front rotors had warped and I had machined them once, and I would like to have the new rotor/pad package installed. They scheduled me in at once with no questions. None of the "we need to turn them 3 times" stuff. They just fixed it right the first time.

They have a pretty decent stock on hand, which you can search thru their web site if you wish. http://eisenhauernissan.com/index.asp

Give them a try..... I drove an hour to get there and was very pleased.

EXTON Nissan on the other hand...... I wouldn't piss under their front door if their carpet was on fire...............

Good one, CarTeach! I actually have not had the misforture of dealing w/Exton Nissan. In a couple PM msg's w/other members one did sorta' recommend Concordville Nissan. My wife and I looked a Murano there when she was looking for a new car and the salesman was full-on cheesy, but he totally came around in the end. We didn't really like the Murano and didn't buy it so I can't say how they would have been. But others have told me they are better than the two Northern DE dealers.

I bought mine at Sheridan and their service department has never impressed me - in fact they've downright pissed me off just about every time I've been there.

From everything everyone has said on this thread and many others, if I had to do it again, I would take CarTeach's advice and visit Eisenhaur - even with the hike it would be there from N. Wilmington. It's rare that someone can really recommend a dealer like Teach does. My $.02

It seems like there's slimy salesmen at most of the stealer-ships. My best luck had been working though the "internet sales" or "fleet sales" departments. The volume of their sales makes them slightly more human I think (notice I said slightly).

This was what I originally tried with O'Neil Nissan on Street Road in Warminster. I first starting pricing Titans through CarsDirect, and that was the local affiliate. The guy never got back to me after my first request. CarsDirect sent me an e-mail asking how the experience was going, and I told them I hadn't been contacted yet. The guy contacted me 2 days later after I purchased my truck from Peruzzi.

I was such an easy commission. I knew exactly what I wanted, no finance issues but he couldn't get it done. I walked into Peruzzi "cold" and left that night with my truck.

I dealt with Mark c-ockerill at Sheridan in New Castle, DE. He was decent and made the deal over the web. The slime-ball was the manager, Greg. I don't know where this bumpkin came from but he was a bastard and just a flat out liar. He wasn't prepared to have someone who could be just as arguementative and wound up caving in at the end. But I tell you, I don't think I have ever felt so tired before in my life once I was done with those 5 hours...

Talking Thanks

If anyone has any other opinions/concerns/comments in the PA area I would appreciate it. So far the info. you guys are giving me is very helpful. I live less than ten minutes from Concordville Nissan and am tempted to go there but I want to get the best deal. Has anyone dealt with Loughhead Nissan in Swarthmore with their Titan purchase?

Thumbs up Concordville Nissan

Funny you should mention Concordville that was where I bought my monster truck in Feb '04.

Here's the experience.. researched everything visited lots on Sundays etc, now I am ready to buy.
Start with Cherry Hill Nissan less than 5 miles from my house. I take a test drive LOVE the truck, but the "truck manager" wasn't paying attention once he figured out I didn't want anything they had in stock, (in Feb 04, most of us had trouble finding our first choice at the even the big dealers), his attitude" was oh well keep checking back".

I used the Nissan web page and found a truck 90% close to my specs at Concordville, I contacted the internet department asking about a certain truck in their inventory. I got a reply from Jasen Nowell inviting me out, even giving directions once he found out I was from Jersey.

Drove out there met Jasen (real nice guy) and took the truck out for a test drive (nice country out there). Of course I had my notes with me, back in early '04 my thinking of about 3% above "dead cost" was a good deal, and that was my target. We get back to the office and Jasen's FIRST price was within a several hundred dollars. This was shaping up to me some new world speed record, within the hour we had the truck, price and good price on trade!

I did agree to let their finance department try to beat my loan deal with e-loan, and since they did come up a quarter point less I gave them the loan, (those finance offices feel like dentist offices) .
In the finance depts favor though they did explain the whole NJ resident Pa purchase thing in detail explaining what I needed to do when and how.

****
A couple of weeks later I think I want to buy the sliding toolbox for the bed.

Again since I live in spitting distance from a dealership I call them first, their quote is ABOVE MRSP (this has always been the case whenever I call Cherry Hill Nissan, they must think their customers are dumb).

I figure what the heck Concordville did me right with the sale let me cold call them and see where they are (called from a different phone and didn't identify myself as a customer). The parts guy says "Nissan gave me a couple of these things I don't know if I am going to sell any so I'll split the difference with ya for ..." I don't have the price here in the office but it was about half way between cost and mrsp.

******
I think I am this close to going back (remember I live in the Cherry Hill NJ area), because Cherry Hill Nissan is giving me crap or ignoring me about ordering the ATP switch for the TSB for the blinking dash lights.

They get one more shot then I waste a about a hour of travel time because I get better service way out there.

I don't know if Jasen is still there (if he is tell him Mike Gillece referred ya), but my experience with Cocordville was great, if you know what you want and what a FAIR price is you should do OK.

good luck

my experiance with exton nissan

My experiance with exton nissan was great as long as you like to haggle. They do try to sell a vehicle before you leave. However I bought two Titans there- 2004 and traded in on 2005. I had a bad experiance with the local dealer Lancaster Nissan. They tried to sell me a titan for msrp and refused to negotiate the price at all. Faulkner Nissan also offered to work with me online and locally although they are near Harrisburg.
