My wife is due Aug 24th, so if I'm not a daddy at that point already, there is now way she's letting me out of the house. (I have a feeling she'll go early - or at least I'm praying she does!) Either way, I probably won't be able to make it that soon.

All that said - I want to do the power tailgate option too. I'll order parts and I'm sure we'll get together again at some point...

No problem. Order your parts and let me know. I could prolly swing by next weekend if you want to do it that soon(23rd). Or you can come over. I'll work for beer either way.
I've got another 14' of loom that I won't use. Just provide the wire and actuator (http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshow...number=330-010) and I'll bring the rest.
Just saw that, I see that clancy wants to do the same thing. I'll get the parts and will figure a day everyone can get together for install and beer.

So let's pick the location for August 27th, and the activity.
Shawnee?

Where are you at?

Morgantown WV is within two hours from Shawnee (between Somerset and Bedford)

Most of us from the last meet are from the metro PA/NJ/DE area. The shawnee state park would be about a 4 hour drive one way for us. I wouldn't mind that for a camping trip, but that's a bit much for a day trip.

gr8titan: Check your PM. -Btw I think I'm going to have flanges added to your old exhaust system so it can be a bolt on part.

21RUSH12, Clancy, and gr8titan seem to be leaning toward an install day?

I think a place off I81 would be good. I'ts more centrally located.

With that said though, the 27th would be out for me. I'll be headed out of town the following week for business, so I'll be doing family things that weekend.

Also, I missed when you all were looking at the tailgate thing you have steves-what is it?

I'm right outside of Philadelphia, gr8titan and 21RUSH12 are in South Jersey, Clancy is in Northern DE. We're all about 30-45 minutes away from each other. buzzkillwill drove out from south of Harrisburg.

I added WV to the thread name as we had a visitor from CT come from WV last week, and I didn't want to exclude him.

Roger that will's out for the 27th.

I installed a power lock actuator in my tailgate so that the tailgate can be locked and unlocked with the key fob. I found the info over in the HOWTO section here, but I did a few things slightly different than the OP. If you'd like, I'll send you the link to my write-up via PM as I don't want to step on the toes of the OP.

Now, all that in consideration I think I'd prefer to do the camping trip in September. Since gr8titan, Clancy, and 21RUSH12 are all intersted in doing the power tailgate lock I'm thinking that would work for the 27th.

  • High power Door lock actuator (partsexpress.com part #330-010)
  • 14' split loom
  • 2 scotchlok connectors (sold in packs of 4)
  • 1 #8 machine screw
  • #8 nuts
  • #8 washers
  • Hoppy 2-wire flat plug
  • zip ties
  • about 15' two pole wire
  • 4 wire connectors
  • electrical tape
  • perforated hanger iron (plumbing supplies) - however the bracket that comes with the parts express actuator may be a suitable replacement

I didn't realize so many people were located that far east in PA. It may be tough to find a place within reasonable time from everywhere. I'm not really familiar with many good parks in PA but I'd love to go once we find a place . By the way, who was the WV resident (other than me)?
