Timing advance Western Pa.

I am thinking about getting the VKPro so I need to have my timing reset.
I live an hour east of Pittsburgh.
Anyone within a couple hours drive have the software to reset this for me?

Re: Timing advance Western Pa.

I'm just south of both of you in Uniontown. Whats the service like at Greensburg Nissan? My local dealer is so screwed on money Nissan came in last friday loaded all the cars and trucks and took the signs. So now I have no where close for service.

I think I'm gonna go with the Uprev programer. It has more options for the same $$$ and I can take care of my own timing advance. It comes with the Cipher software.

I was just past there last week. I thought they moved? I guess they did.lol
Greensburg is ok at best. always re-scheduling, or blaming the problems on my mods. So far they have taken care of me, no reason to burn it down. Just let them take my red stapler, then we'll see.

Re: Timing advance Western Pa.

I've been less than thrilled w/them. I think they've f'ed up more than they've fixed.

Everytime I take my truckt there, they keep it for a day, tell me what's wrong & then schedule it back in a couple weeks later after they get the parts. It's a huge pain.

I've also had a problem w/them quoting me a price to do work, then when I picked it up, they doubled the amount. I'm not impressed to say the least.

Re: Timing advance Western Pa.

Thats the kind of things i'm worried about. Superior always treated me great when I had my Dodge. I didn't like the salesman there that is why I bought my Titan in Washington at John Sisson's. It's just a pretty decent trip to Greensburg or Washington every time I need something done. It's really gonna be bad if they take my truck then just order things and tell me to come back.

I'm not sure where your located, I've herd nothing but good things about Mark Arbuckle in Indiana. there's also a dealer in Johnstown. they're both about 45min for me. Pittsburgh east is the same, I don't trust them. I went there when looking to buy my Titan, bad experiance. Maybe there service is different.

Irwin, so Johnstown & IN are too far for me.

My cousin is good friends w/Mark Arbuckle, but it's just too far for service.

I basically have nothing to add to this string, other than that I wanted to point out that I am also in the area. Near Cleveland.

Re: Timing advance Western Pa.

Irwin and Indiana aren't THAT far apart. IMHO it would be worth the drive there if you know your gonna get treated right. Try them once and see. I bought my truck at Mark Arbucles and they've treated me like GOLD. Couldn't be MORE satisfied with that place.

Side note: I used to work within a stone's throw of Pittsburgh East Nissan, went over and looked around the place. Huge Inventory but Huge D1ckheads too!!! I did buy my hitch from them though. Wouldn't buy a vehicle from them though or even think of taking my lifted truck there. No worries when going to Arbuckle's. They've sold a bunch of trucks to the "rig pig's" and know what stuff breaks on these trucks, regardless of the lift or not. That's why, in my experience, they could care less about the bigger tires/lift. They've seen the same stuff break/malfunction prematurely on the unmodified trucks. So far they've replaced a torn CV boot, wheel bearing, plastic guard thing behind RF wheel well, front brakes under warranty. I know of another member (SmokenMini) who took his lifted truck there and had the rear end replaced, no questions asked.

Just thought I'd chime in.

I assume you'll be getting the timing advance this weekend sledge?

It's hard for me to take time during the week to get up there & wait on my truck, or have them look at it for 30 minutes & say, "We had to order the parts & you'll have to come back next week." It's not in the cards for me. Working M-F 8-5, just doesn't seem feasible. Most Nissan dealers don't have loaner cars either.

Anyway...I got the 2* Advance last night & Fred said mine was all f'ed up. When he hooked up the computer, it was only reading 13*. He bumped it up to 17 & it seemed to hold. My a/f mixture was way too rich as well, so I had him reset that as well. Seems to run much better. The engine is much smoother. I filled the tank on the way back from getting it done, so I'll see if there is any difference. I usually get about 300 miles until the gas light comes on.
