Re: Carlise All-Truck Nationals, Aug. 8-10, 2008

Wish I could come but I don't know if I'm going to make it due to other plans that weekend. I might just show up for the day Sunday and if I do I'll be sure to come over and introduce myself.

Re: Carlise All-Truck Nationals, Aug. 8-10, 2008

I couldn't find a reasonably priced room, worth just a 2-1/2 hour drive. So, I'll come up early Saturday. I may look some more though...

I'm open for Breakfast, I'd love to start the day out right! name the place.

Somthing mentioned of the "Iron SKillet" near the truckstop places between 6:30 and 7:00 am.

Re: Carlise All-Truck Nationals, Aug. 8-10, 2008

I posted this over at CT, too. Those looking for lodging, have you tried Rotue 15, in the Mechanicsburg area? It's about 15 minutes to the Fairgrounds from there, but might be far enough away from it to have rooms at reasonable rates. I know there's a few hotels right near the PA Turnpike- Hop on the headed west about 6 miles, or so, and you're right at the Fairgrounds.

Heck, if I had more space, I'd open up my place for people to crash here. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the Fairgrounds from my house.

Re: Carlise All-Truck Nationals, Aug. 8-10, 2008

I'll have to pass on breakfast.
We are driving up in the morning and my daughter is not much of an early riser so I'm hoping to be on the road by 7:00 ish. It should take us around 2 1/2 hours to get there.

No plans for this weekend except a lot of cleaning. We went camping last weekend and the truck is a mess!

Re: Carlise All-Truck Nationals, Aug. 8-10, 2008

I give in! I got me a room for Fri and Sat night. It is at the:

Comfort Inn West (PA409)
6325 Carlisle Pike (US 11) , Mechanicsburg, PA, US, 17050
Phone: (717) 790-0924 Fax: (717) 691-9385

It was 81.00 a night. More than I want to pay, but looks decent, great location. Hate to arrive or leave tired. I'll just come striaght from work on Friday, so should be in town by 8 or 9. Able to be ontime and awake, for breakfast Saturday morning.

Still planning the logistics... Hoping to stay with a friend close by, if not we'll get a room!
