Based on what I've seen, Verizon is going with the Droid instead. Sounds like they gave up waiting for the iPhone.
Crazy talk! I pay $122/mo for a 2-line family plan, unlimited family messaging, and iPhone data plan. I'd say $70/mo would be about right for voice+iPhone plan.
thats pretty close I have the bare minumum 39.99 + mandatory 30.00 data plus unlimet texting20.00. my bills are 95.00/month.
Thanks for the thoughts everybody. I already have the $30 PDA data plan from using my incite so that is not that big of a deal.
From all the the opinions it is somewhat difficult to not go get one now!
In order to add music to the phone I assume I would have to add them through using iTunes. I guess I am assuming that I would not be able to sync through WMP since it is an Apple product? I know it does not support mini SD which kinda sucks.
Has anybody had battery issues? Is it like the ipod with a non replaceable battery?
Thanks all!!
Zack

Everything can be done through iTunes so in a sense it's easier than having a separate app, but you don't HAVE to manage your music with iTunes. You can manage it with another app as long as you have the "Manually Manage" option enabled, which will have it show up as a removable device. Since iTunes is used to backup the phone, install updates, etc I find it's easiest to just let iTunes do everything. It doesn't play WMA, only MP3 or AAC, so getting music onto it from subscription services like Rhapsody takes some...work.
Battery life for me is much better than my Tilt, I can basically go 2 full days between charges which is more than enough. I got MAYBE 8 hours of use out of my Tilt. You are correct, though. The battery is not user-serviceable.

Battery life isn't really an issue. I can go about 2 days without a recharge. The best thing about the iPhone battery, I don't know if other phones are similar, is it does not take much time charge. You can plug it in for 10 min and get hours of power out of it.

I've had a ton of different phones and if the 3 YEAR OLD first gen iPhone had 3G, I still don't think there is a phone on the market that can touch it.
As far as the battery goes, I'm a heavy user and I can just about stretch a day out of it. As far as being replaced, I would hope that if that time every came, you would already be out of contract. If you wanted to replace it, they're only like $15 and there are plenty of video's online that show you how to do it.

Oh poopie. Most all of my files are WMA. I did not think about that at all. Oh well, not that big of a deal. I can rip them as MP3 from now on. I never do listen to music all that much off of my incite or other phones, so not having music right away is not to scary. That is one of biggest reasons I never bought an iPod, having to deal with iTunes. Not like it is that scary, I always just liked the quick and dirty sync options of other players.
Bills, thanks for that, it makes me feel a lot better about the battery!
Thanks!

Most people should be fine with the 8 gig. I am a music whore though and can't stand to not have all of my music with me. So I have a 16g. I see no reason why anyone would need a lot of photos on their phone so that shouldn't be an issue. The thing with movies is you most likely wont need the movie on there for a long time. I will put one on I want to watch then take it off or replace it.

Give the Blackberry Storm a look. Similar to the iPhone and many available apps for it also. The plus for the music is that it can be MP3, WMA or many of the other sound formats and no iTunes required.

Well, to give you an idea of space, I currently have 930 songs on my iPhone which take up 4.7GB of space. The vast majority of them are 192kbit for better sound quality. I also have roughly 40 apps and 130 pictures and I still have 1.5GB of space on my 8GB iPhone 3G.
My entire music library is 4100 songs/23GB, so I'd need the 32GB 3GS in order to fit everything. No complaints here, though. There's a big difference between having all my music and all the music I enjoy listening to. I imported all my CDs into iTunes and as long as I have the space on my PC I see no reason to delete music I don't listen to very often.

I have had my Iphone since july of 2008 and I have been very impressed with as said before by others you really dont see how helpful it can be til you have one. I have many friends that have blackberry , g2 and other touch phones and they all wish they has an iphone and they tell me that except for the blackberry ones, but that is because the email on backbery is much faster . If getting your email instantly isnt a key aspect I would say iphone and dont look back . Most anything can be converted or changed to be used on it and all my issues <mms and stereo bluetooth > have been fixed. Good Luck , btw i have a 16 gig and have 1472 song , 1 full movie 72 videos and assorted things and about 6 pages of applications and I still have 4 gigs left.

FWIW, email delivery is instant so long as the mail service supports "push". Both my work email (MS Exchange) and Y! mail support "push" and I get email as soon as it actually hits the inbox. The iPhone can check non-push (fetch) accounts as frequently as every 15 minutes.
