I personally prefer Blackberry over iPhone, but that is because of Apple as a company mostly. That and I will never switch from Verizon. I'm just here to play devil's advocate and say that a Blackberry can do just about everything an iPhone can do, just not quite as easily as the iPhone. Blackberry does email and documents much much better than the iPhone.
Just out of curiosity, not trying to start an Apple war haha, but what is it about Apple that you dislike? I am curious because Apple is arguably one of the most consumer friendly and customer oriented companies of its size.

The way they treat the app developers, how they basically are "my way or the highway" with their products. They won't include some basic stuff on their computers like eSata, even on the Mac Pro. That being said, I used to like their stuff but not any more. The only Apple products I will buy are regular iPod classics as they are now called and the Macbook Pro because I haven't found anything that comes close to them.
I just don't like Apple for a lot of reasons. Most of them are nit picking. What's funny is that the blurb picked for me in the senior "newspaper" when I graduated was that I would buy Apple just to shut them down lol.

I agree with bagellord. With a Blackberry...
1.) No iTunes to contend with. You plug it in and it acts as mass storage drive on the computer allowing you to transfer music, pictures videos etc. at will with no third party software needed
2.) You can cut, copy and paste text
3.) You can put in your own microSD Card and choose the memory size you want

5.) It now has WiFi just like the iPhone
6.) Blackberry e-mail system is much better.
7.) Accessories are cheaper.
In the end it's just a preference.
iPhone cut, copies, and pastes
I dont get whats so bad about using iTunes, when I had a Blackberry I wished I couldve synced with iTunes.

Was not meant to be today. Supposedly they do not make the 3GS in an 8G model. Only the 16 and 32G. They did not have the 16 in stock today. I am having them hold one for when they get the next shipment. Should be later this week.

You can configure your iphone to do the same thing, yes you have to use itunes to update your phone, but they make sure you have the latest upgrade. My work blackberry has never had a software update. It needs it bad.

?????
I HATE email on the blackberry, its rarely formatted correctly, attachments are also not usually formatted correctly, its a freaking mess. Its easier to send a quick email because its a tad faster to get into but better???
In contrast my gmail on the iphone is identical to how it would look on the computer. Advantage iphone.
I have a blackberry bold as my work cellphone, compared to the iphone I freaking hate it. That little ball in the center is the dumbest thing on the planet. I hate scrolling with it, I hate clicking with it, I am spoiled by the ability to touch the screen where I want to type or just touch the app I want to use. The screen is smaller so you can only have a few "apps" (and I use the term loosely) on your home page, you have to go into the menu tree for the rest of them.
I know its all personal preference, but I can only imagine that people who like blackberries over iphone simply have not used an iphone.

The iPhone didn't have copy and paste and MMS for a long time. Blackberry had it for a long time.

What kind of email system are you using? I've never had a problem with stuff not rendering or working properly email wise. Gmail and Exchange work perfectly on my Tour.

"They didn't used to have" come on, you can do better then that. And if anything that speaks hugely of apple for adding something that wasn't originally included but was asked for by customers, what's the last thing you wished your blackberry had, and then had the company go out and make that change for you?

It's an exchange server. It has nothing to do with the system, has to do with how it is displayed. Formatting errors to fit the tiny screen. Id rather zoom and scroll than let it reformat my email.
I looked at the Blackberry yesterday at Best Buy. I can not remember which model it was, Pearl, or Bold. I am a pretty big guy, and have large meat fingers. The keys on the QWERTY keyboard on the blackberry were very hard to press individually. I had the same issue with my incite on the touchscreen. The few iPhones I have played with I did not have this issue.
I however really appreciate the information, as I am open to all suggestions. Even though I had them reserve an iPhone for me, does not mean that I am going to buy it for sure. Yeah, I am a **** like that.
I am still researching the Samsung invision, Jack, and something else that I can not remember the name of as well.
Guys, no need to start brand wars, all info is appreciated.
Thanks!
Zack

Try doing a software update. That may help. There were some software glitches early on.
Options->Advanced Options->Wireless Update. Or just plug the phone into your computer and sync it with the Blackberry Desktop and it will do the same thing.
The other thing I found is that my Blackberry will "Bluetooth" with any phone for transferring music, ringtones and pictures back and forth. My friend has an iPhone and the Bluetooth on the iPhone would not work with my Blackberry or any other phones in the vicinity for doing these things. Seems Apple doesn't want people sharing files between phones. A quick google on this will reveal similar problems others have had.
I have to agree with Spirit when it comes to email on the iPhone.
The direct Exchange integration is the best I've seen (Blackberry requires you to purchase their software) and I think the mail client is fantastic as well.
I used to hate iTunes as well coming from a long history of Windows Mobile phones. When I got the iPhone, I was shocked to find that iTunes synced with Outlook and Exchange far better than Windows Mobile...

I guess I should have worded it better. These are things it should have had from the get go. Every Blackberry and hell even my Palm Pilot had cut and paste and MMS (not the Palm obviously). It's just how Apple locks down how you do everything. I would think differently if I could get apps from any old place I wanted rather than the app store or jailbreaking. In any case, the biggest deal breaker for me is AT&T.

I'm not trying to discredit anyone, but why all the hating on AT&T? Maybe it's just where I live, but I always have great service with AT&T. In fact at my school (Texas A&M), I have full bars all the time. Hell, I'm one of the few people that can actually get text messages and phone calls to go through when we are all at football games. Most of my friends have other providers and have to stand at certain places in their dorms or other buildings just to get a text message to send of have a phone call. I love AT&T's service. My 2 cents.
