I'm not trying to discredit anyone, but why all the hating on AT&T? Maybe it's just where I live, but I always have great service with AT&T. In fact at my school (Texas A&M), I have full bars all the time. Hell, I'm one of the few people that can actually get text messages and phone calls to go through when we are all at football games. Most of my friends have other providers and have to stand at certain places in their dorms or other buildings just to get a text message to send of have a phone call. I love AT&T's service. My 2 cents.
ATT service is the only service that works where I live and work. It is a no brainer for me. It could be better, but it could be a whole lot worse.

My biggest problem with my iPhone 3G is the constant dropped calls. Never had that problem with Verizon and I could actually get a signal at my hunting lease. My iPhone has to be turned off of 3G in the network settings to be able to keep a call active. I lose over 50% of my calls. At the hunting lease I get the nice NO SERVICE message until I drive a mile or better away from it. If it wasn't for all the wife's family being on AT&T I'd switch back to Verizon when my contract expires. I hear the dropped calls issue it with the overloading of the 3G network because of all the iPhones. AT&T can't keep up with the demand.
I do love the non-phone part of the iPhone though

Likewise, Verizon (and any other carrier) can have issues where AT&T subs have none. Personally, I haven't had a problem with dropped calls with my iPhone or AT&T, neither has my wife.
As for iPhones overloading AT&Ts 3G network, that's a crock. The iPhone doesn't even make up 10% of AT&T's subscriber base. Not an AT&T or iPhone "fanboy", I'm just not sure why people make up or pass on bogus info to try and make something sound worse than it is.

I think it's pretty well established that Verizon/Alltell has the biggest network of all the providers and for people that do travel conus a lot it's defiantly an advantage. From what I have read At&t has expanded since the iphone has came out but it's still not to the level that Verizon is. Everyone that moves here with At&t soon figures out that they might as well be carrying a brick in there pocket because that is all the service is good for. Same thing goes for Sprint.
Real Racing - you can't buy a game for 10 dollars on the Nintendo DS/DSi or PSP for 10 bucks that plays as good as this game.
Zenonia - you like zelda old school style? Bust out 4 bucks and you have game of the year material!
These games are insane!
I was lost in Kokomo, Indiana looking for a school that I needed to go to for some Roofing field work - at a stop light I had a map drawn for me from my current location to where I needed to be before the light turned green! You can't do that **** on no motha****in' windows mobile type ****....
Before the Iphone 3G - I had a Samsung i760 - that thing was slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. I went from coach to first class when I switched to the iphone - and I pay about 30 bucks cheaper than I did with Verizon!
Currently my only gripe is that within the 6 months I've had this phone - 3G coverage has shrunk....I get almost constant Edge coverage in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

They've put their two cents in on some apps that have been released but are required to use wifi and not 3G (I believe in the last 6 months they have changed their minds on this) (Google Voice, Skype, etc. etc...)
They have a **** network for Iphones....3G is not constant and at times as laggy or laggier than the Edge network.
MMS was delayed because AT&T wasn't quick enough to be ready for the added bandwidth issues.
They've come out (AT&T) and admitted that the iphone is too popular to handle....they basically blamed consumers for the problem with their network....

outside looking in on this thread it seems as if every post you have made here is "fanboy" of AT&T and the iPhone.

You must have a different definition of "fanboy" than everyone else if you think that. By no means have I implied that AT&T is better than everyone else and I've only shared my iPhone experience compared to a Windows Mobile PDA phone, which did suck in comparison.
Just so we're clear, fanboy = Completely biased, baseless claims that what he/she has is better than anything else and proclaims that everything else sucks if for no reason other than it's the best because they have one.
Anyway, I'm not sure how bringing logic into the this carrier vs. that carrier topic means I'm a fanboy. Your observational powers are out of tune.

Being that I'm a Star Trek fan, Im rather used to being called a fanboy. That said, I have tried the 3 major brands of smartphones (sorry Palm I missed your version, but your commercials for the Pre are stupid) Windows Powered phones, Blackberries and iPhones. Out of the 3 the iPhone does the most and does it the easiest.
Clearly, other phones on the market have things on them that put them above the iPhone. For example, running a flashed ROM on my old windows phone, I had a mobile browser called Skyfire installed on it, I could watch embedded flash videos, and even stream videos from Hulu on my phone. Try that with the iPhone, not gonna happen. My BB Bold from work has a flash, why doesn't the iPhone?? But for me the iPhone is the complete package.
I used to be a hater, one of my biggest gripes is the lack of a tactile keyboard. Well, a few days (literally) after my wife got one (meaning I wasn't even using it very often, just playing with it), I was typing faster on the virtual keyboard than I was on my either my tilt's keyboard or the BB keyboard.
Regarding AT&T, I really don't think Im a fanboy here because I do give this company a lot of ****. They have a lot to take crap for. 6 years ago when I first moved to Texas I had AT&T, it was terrible, no service anywhere and that was with a regular phone, not talking texting or internet, just the ability to talk on the phone. So I dumped them, tried Alltell for a while, they were ok. Tried Sprint for a while, they were ok. We went back to AT&T mostly because at the time, work was paying my cell phone bill and they made the decision. They are a lot better now than they were before. I think a lot of people are jaded, perhaps they were burned by AT&T in the past like I was and don't want to give them another try, but they are a lot better now in their coverage.
The other thing is people just arent knowledgeable about why certain things are the way they are. One poster suggested AT&T blames the popularity of the iphone as the reason their service sucks. AT&T has never released a statement anywhere near indicating that. The MMS was an accounts issue, not a network issue. It was still clearly AT&T's fault, but it was not a network issue.
The iPhone 8GB 3G is the best phone on the market for under $100. There is no phone commercially available that comes anywhere close to what the iPhone 3G does for $100. Now the $199 and up range, it has some stiff competition, but I still think it's the better option vs BB or windows phones.

The Iphone was a great phone it has everything that you need and if it doesnt have it then you can probably find an app for it. The only thing that does happen to suck about the iPhone is the bill I had a family member on my bill for 9.99 yeah right they will charge you for what ever they can but again The iPhone is sick dope great just be prepared for a larger bill than normal phones.

A simple search yields:
"Network performance, which affects Internet connectivity and dropped calls, has been one of the biggest complaints that iPhone customers have. During AT&T’s third-quarter earnings call, Ralph de la Vega, who heads its wireless unit, said the company has been “aggressively” working on its network to handle the explosive growth in wireless-data use, as well as the new devices, such as netbooks and e-readers, it has signed on to support."
I was directed by an AT&T service rep to turn of the 3G if I wanted to stop my dropped calls. Not a single one while on the Edge network. I can set stationary and watch my single bars contantly change on 3G. They don't on budge on Edge.

That I can believe, it was your post that said it was due to all the iPhones I took issue with. Nowhere in your above quote does it say the number of iPhones, which as I said are less than 10% of AT&T's customer base, are the cause of the network overloading.
