A predictable answer considering the question they asked but were there enough categories?

If you look at it from the perspective of a radical Islamist, it may even be considered an act of war since he did attack troops, albeit unarmed troops and although we may not be at war with radical Islam, I am pretty sure they are at war with us.

One thing is certain though, we need to wake up and smell the Jihad because even though the U.S. hasn't officially declared war with radical Islam, they have certainly declared war with us and considering we have thousands of troops in that region, the case could certainly be made that the U.S. is, although not officially, participating in that war.

As far as I'm concerned, the U.S. needs to crap or vacate the latrine.

I think it's quite apparent to anyone paying attention and being intellectually honest that he did and this MF should have been booted out of the military long ago.

I agree.

He shouldn't have been in the role he was in regardless of his religion if he was unable to manage the issues brought to him by soldiers. It's apparent that he was taking on their stress as well and looked to Islam to vent it and justify his actions.

Typical for a Chicago Gangster...uh politician, blame it on "other people's" guns and if they are so keen on getting rid of guns, why don't they all start by dismissing their armed security staffs and secret service agents, or maybe arm them with foul language and squirt guns instead.

Islam had nothing to do with this, nor did the fact that he was hanging around a radical priest, after all, look at Obama, he hung around a radical preacher for 20 years and it didn't affect him at all.

"Two psychiatrists who worked with Hasan at Walter Reed told
NPR that during the six years he was there, he was frequently
distracted and often late for work. The psychiatrists, who asked
not to be identified, said that when on call, Hasan often would
simply not answer the phone.

They also said Hasan once tried to convert a patient to Islam,
telling him that Islam would "save his soul." Hasan received a
verbal warning for that incident.

He was repeatedly warned about his performance, but officials
said the problems had nothing to do with his faith.

At one point, the psychiatrists said, a former psychiatric director
at Walter Reed, Scott Moran, sought to have Hasan dismissed,
reportedly saying, "I do not think Hasan should carry the
Walter Reed name." Moran, reached by NPR, declined to comment.

But the administrative procedure for removing a resident at
Walter Reed was considered onerous, according to the psychiatrists,
and a key official on a review committee reportedly asked how it
might look to terminate a key resident who happened to be a Muslim.

Hasan was later reassigned to Fort Hood."

He is a terrorist and perhaps has one or more co-conspirators. In particular, there are reports he had a mysterious visitor immediately before the attack. Hopefully they can obtain the names of the co-conspirators through kind and gentle interrogation. I would imagine the wiretaps are in place at his preferred mosque by now.

Thanks for clarifying.

He wasn't monitored was he for any issue whatsoever.
He deals with the stressful reactions of his patients and used his religion et al, as an outlet.
Whatever set of circumstances brought this about, he did not have the capacity to deal with it and chose a violent response. Many psychiatrists suffer from depression and other disorders. His set of issues is his to deal with and there are no excuses for what he did. I assume you are in belief that I'm giving him a pass on his behavior by your response.

I guess killing all Muslims who enter the country would take out the guesswork wouldn't it?

"Apartment manager John Thompson told CNN that the only time
that he was known to have a visitor was the day before the
shooting. CNN reported that witnesses described the visitor
