The shooter is not dead, just wounded. He was overheard mumbling something on the way to the hosipital about, the constitution and Papa D.

Maybe they need to re-evaluate putting the enemy in the military, or at least make them wear bright orange uniforms as a courtesy warning to fellow troops.

Yes there should and the fact is that we all should effectively be "armed soldiers walking around and shooting back" and if that were the case, what do you suppose would have happened?

As far as I'm concerned, this is another tragic result of an unarmed population, and soldiers no less. This is f*cked up and if we are going to disarm ourselves, why don't we all just have targets tattooed on our chests and line up like ducks in a shooting gallery every time there is more than three of us in a group?

I remember guarding 18 Apaches, 8 OH-58-s and 8 Blackhawks, just a few miles for the Czechoslovakian boarder with nothing but 5 blanks in my M-16.

I remember standing guard in Vietnam (1965 Christmas Truce) where we were not allowed to load our weapons, and were told, if fired on, seek cover, do not return fire.

That sounds familiar, we were getting ready to deploy to Somalia, and they told us we were not allowed to shoot even if fired upon unless orders were given we could. I told my sergeant to go ahead and put me in jail because I was shooting back regardless of orders. Would rather be in jail in Germany than jail in Somalia, because there was no way in hell I would not shoot back.

I had no plans to stop anyone from stealing the aircraft. Either give me ammo, or expect me to show them how to start it and give them the log books. I am not going to commit suicide because my command is stupid.
