Pulled over for.......

TINT!!!!

I matched my rear windows about a month ago (13%) and at the time I was not aware it was at that level. Driving home through Sorrento (little town), I happened to notice him in the other lane (4 lane btw). I was clippin' about 60 in a 45 and just knew I was toast. No lights.....Get to the intersection and it looks like a UFO was behind me!!!! Pull over and get my stuff ready. He collects it and returns with the tint machine. Reads it and goes back to his cruiser. 5 minutes later I get a tint ticket. At first I think he gave me a break...................HELLL NO!!!!! The fine in Ascension Parish for illegal tint is 274.00!!!!! MERRY XMAS SORRENTO PD!!! I think the speeding ticket would have been cheaper Our limit is 20% for the fronts Oh well...... Live and learn but I am TOO OLD for this SHEET!!!!!

Later

Re: Pulled over for.......

A little off topic, but I'll actually be driving into Louisiana on Saturday for the week...I have limo all the way around and never have a problem down here...

Does anyone know if I can get a ticket in another state for tint with my vehicle registered in Florida?

And that really sucks about the ticket man...

Re: Pulled over for.......

Yes. Happened to me in North Carolina.
No fine though, I was on vacation and he gave
me 2 weeks to get it off. I had to have my local
P.D. Verify it though and fax a letter stating it was
removed.

My brother's tint ticket wasn't a fix it ticket. Had to pay and pull it off.

Your vehicle must comply with all the laws of the state that it is in, even if just passing through.

We don't have fix it tickets here in Ma we just have tickets. But if you fix the problem and then appear in court they may throw the ticket out or reduce it for your compliance. But even if they throw it out you now have to pay a 25 dollar fee just to fight the ticket in court.

Or the other thing to do here is Socal is to get you buddy cop to sign off on a fix it ticket. My best friend is a SDPD and my other buddy's dad is a SD Sheriff. But if the CHP gets you then there is more hoops to jump but you can still get around it.
