ok... i do agree with you... and i may be stupid for it.. but i tend to not want to know whats going on in the world.. its tooo damn depressing...

I always said two of the most important qualities in a president for me were being strong enough to do what needs to be done and smart enough that no one ever finds out about it. There will always be secrets. Many of them I don't need to or want to know about. This attitude may allow our government to fall on the wrong side from time to time. That's the price I pay. Thankfully there are enough people who disagree with me that things are kept in check to a point. So to everyone who takes the time to hold the powers that be accountable, thank you. Now it's time to get back to the comedy channel.

How ironic that we consider the mass population in the United States as sheeple when they do something we don't want to happen but when they vote the way we want, they are "educated and standing up to XYZ?"

It takes real effort to become informed on even the smallest aspect of what goes on in government and we have certainly allowed constituencies to grow up around each program, project, et al to the point that short of them catching national attention would remain in place even when the program or project should be evaluated.

The TEA Parties are a great example of grass roots movement. While it will attract the extremists who simply want to shout at everything the government is doing, they are a good thing. They help energize with information (right, wrong, imagined, etc.) a population into action.

IF the TEA parties stay focused on the taxes, they could really do some benefit come mid term elections.

If they do not, they will be seen simply as an angry mob and dismissed until larger and larger ones form.

Being informed about the corrupt and criminal activity on the Hill and the unconstitutional, fundamental transformation of America has never been easier and all that people have to do is watch a Rodeo Clown on the idiot box.

I would argue that the problem these days isn't so much being informed as it is wanting to be informed and I have heard the same thing in this post that I often hear when speaking to friends who say "it's too damn depressing to be informed these days."

Anybody care to know that the plan the current administration is employing to institute single payer health scare all appears in a book that the husband of a Democratic Representative wrote while in Prison for embezzlement and tax evasion? Is it coincidence?

Anybody care to know that while the world was focused on the women in red who made her way into the State dinner at the WH, the convict who wrote the book was also at the same State dinner? Another coincidence perhaps?

It seems to me that the information has never been more readily available but many folks just can't handle the truth and the truth is, criminals and corrupt politicians, with the help of convicts and the coporatocracy are fundamentally transforming America into a Progressive, EnviroNazi, private Bankers wet dream to serve the elite and unless the citizens rise up and stop them, it won't be long until our economy mirrors that of a third world nation, and the sheeple are herded around like...you guessed it, sheep.
