Tundra Beats Titan

Go to the link below and click the tabs to see how Toyota thinks that the Tundra "beats" the Titan. Pretty amusing.

Wow they are really trying hard on those comparisons. A lot of the differences are 1/10s of an inch. Plus they only look at the very few aspects that they measure better in. What a joke.

Ya,

Like they show they have more rear leg-room that the Ram, but convieniently leave out the fact they have less rear leg-room that the Titan even thought the Tundra is a WAY longer vehicle overall. Nothing like truth in advertising ;-)

Spin is always fun...

All MFR's do it - even Nissan.

The only thing the Tundra has that would be nice is a power sliding rear window.

I like how Toyota is promoting the fact that the Tundra is longer and wider than the Titan, F150, and the Silverado. As if people don't already have a hard enough time parking these things in their garages.

I know this is Titan talk and not Tundrasolutions, but I have been visiting this site on and off and I must say that I do praise Nissan for putting a formidable drivetrain into this truck, however without trying to come off as a troll and a flamer I was just curious what you will say about the Titan in November 2005 when the new Tundras come out. When I say new I dont mean a bigger truck with a drivetrain that is 4 years old (like the current DC Tundra) I'm talkin about all new (you know what the Titan is today) I understand that Motor Trend's recent truck issue reports a 5.8 L 360 hp with 400 ft/lbs as a 2006 model Tundra. So, I salute you and encourage you to enjoy your Titan for the next 19 months (or so) because if you think Toyota is going to get shut out then as in the words of Judas Priest - "you got another thing comin"

What took toyota so long??

Maybe the third time is the charm?

Meanwhile I'll be having miles of smiles long before the Tundra comes out and how much will it cost by the way?

No one knows?

Any Hoo, welcome to this site.

Test drive a TITAN yet???

First off, it'd have to come with good size brake discs...

If Toyota offers it with a comparable Utility Bed package, and offers ABLS or another type of limited slip along with a locking rear diff, then I'm sold.

Actually I havent test driven a Titan yet and I dont think I want to for fear of having to trade in my truck for the Titan and losing my rear on the trade in value loss

Yep, that Old TITAN Magic would have you in a spell. . . . .It happened to all of us!!!!

There is just something about this truck that is unlike any other vehicle I have ever owned. It's downright frightening!

Well in 19 months my Titan will be about two years old. If the Tundra is that much better, I'll go buy the new Tundra. Geez, like I'm gonna retire in this thing?

Best regards

Edit: Former Tundra owner here too, an '01 SR5 Access cab 4x4 with the TRD package.

This reminds me of the old muscle builder magazine ads where the big strong bully kicks sand in the little wimp's face and the wimp starts plotting a long weight lifting campaign to get even.

Meahwhile Toyota will have to take what little solace it can in the fact that the Tundra is 0.5 inches wider than the Titan.

I'd wait until atleast the 2nd year of the new Tundra generation. The engine you mentioned that's listen in the new Trucktrend (I think) sounds very good and I'm sure it will be very reliable since it's a Toyota. The only thing that would keep me from getting the new Tundra come year 2 of the new model is its price. Unless the price is on par with the Titan or less, I doubt I'd go for it. In the meantime, I'm looking at the 2005 model Titans when they come out.
