One Less Titan Buyer

As many of you have noticed, I have been on this board for a while, trying to find out as much about the Titan as I can. When I first found out Nissan was coming out with a full-size truck I became very interested. Like many of you, I ordered the brochures and everything from the Nissan site before the Titan was even released.

This board has been a major source of information for me regarding the Titan. Aside from all the useful info about the truck that I've learned from the members here, I've also been influenced by the members greatly.

For instance, after hearing all your insightful comments about the Titan and it's competition, I was swayed from purchasing a 4Runner or other vehicles that I had my mind on, in favor of the Titan.

HOWEVER, the moderators of this board, which has been a huge part of my interest in the Titan, are now threatening to ban me because of honest and completely unmalicious comments I made in a post entitled "Titans & Gas Prices" which can be found in the Off-Topic section of this board, or by clicking here, in which I truthfully and factually bring up the link between rising gas prices and Titan sales, as well as my concern for the brave men and women of our American Armed Forces.

Was I wrong for what I said? Was I wrong to bring up what anyone with eyes and a mind can see for themselves? Nothing I said was controversial or hateful. It was honest fact which can easily be found by reading a newspaper, opening a book, or making a few clicks on the internet. Yet the moderators take offense to this and threaten to ban me from this board.

I was only threatened with being banned after the last post in the thread where I used a Bible quote. Perhaps the moderators take offense to me using a Bible quote, in which case I make no apologies. As anyone who reads the thread can see, the issue I brought up of gas prices affecting Titan sales and the reasons for that, escalated, not on my part, to allegations of racism, hatred, and so on. Nowhere in my posts did I say anything insulting or degrading, yet I was called ignorant, crazy, racist, and was threatened with being banned from the forum.

Tell me, is it worse to state that Israel recieves oil to feed it's tanks and helicopters that kill civilians (A known fact that anyone can easily verify just by turning on the evening news), or is it worse to call someone ignorant, crazy, racist, and so on? The answer is clear, yet I am the one being threatened with being banned whereas those who insult me and attempt to degrade me are ignored and tolerated.

I make no apologies for quoting from the Good Book, and I make no apologies for being concerned about the lives and welfare of my fellow brothers and sisters fighting in the U.S. military, and I make no apologies for speaking the truth.

Those who are with me, please show your support, and show the moderators and all those who unduly take offense at the truth that they can bully one of us, but they can't bully all of us united.

Tryin to hold my tongue, but readin your 1st post, munkeebinis, you are incredibly wrong, and what you say shows either your ignorance or blindness, take your pick.

You said "[Gas is] going to fill the tanks of Israeli tanks and helicopters so they can keep beating on little rock-throwing boys and stealing more land from the Palestinians." I think that groups like Hamas and all the suicide bombers that they breed and recruit hardly qualify as "rock-throwing boys". Every time I turn on the news, there has been another terrorist attack on innocent Israeli citizens by Palestinian terrorists. If you "have been around the world", surely you have seen an Isreali bus after a Palestinian homicide bomber has set off a bomb, killing and injuring innocent people, just trying to go to work. Just earlier today, where Palestinian terrorists shot a pregnant woman who was driving down the road, and after the car crashed, went over and systematically executed all 4 of the children in the car, including an 8 year old girl.

I don't know where you get off bringing up a topic of such heated debate that hits home to those of us that are educated or somehow closely related to the subject, regardless of whether your dribble to be fact or not.

With all of the evil and horrible things goin on in the world, can't you just leave that out of this website, and have fun talkin about trucks? Of course this is a free country and you have the freedom to say what you want, but there are many sites out there where they talk about issues like this all day. Here, I joined this site yesterday to do nothing but talk about Titans. Can we please keep it that way??? Mods - I apologize for goin on a tangent, but this kinda hits home w/me. Please don't kick me for potentially stirrin up a huge commotion.

I totally agree with you, TrojanDan. Take the political talk somewhere else. I joined this board to read and enjoy what others have to say about our fine truck, not to listen to opinions of politics. I too, am for free speech, but it has it's place, just like everything else.

1. You should have put your political views in the off topic section.
2. Why would you let the actions of others not associated with Nissan affect your choice of vehicle?
3. As mentioned before, if your that worried about gas mileage and if you don't have a need for a truck; why are you looking at the Titan? If you need a commuter get a Honda or a Corolla or Prius.

You try to mix in quotes from the Bible to try to lend some kind acceptance to the trash you spew. Funny, everytime I hear quote from the KKK about Blacks, they mention "The Bible says "theys" supposed to be our slaves". What a bunch of ignorant F*****. They sound like you.

As far as Israel making a gas prices higher, you have got to be kidding. We could supply that whole country with fuel and it would not put a dent in what we use. Our gas prices are nothing compared to the rest of the world. We are paying less for gas than in 1980, when you correct for inflation(way less). Search the internet for gasoline prices and inflation if you don't believe me. So quit crying about somebody else causing our ills. I say good riddance to you dumbass.

Sorry to everyone else on the board, but this kind of crap really sets me off, and since this guy won't let it go, I felt I had to say something.

I have a novel concept let's talk about the Titan. At least when a Dodge, Ford, or Chevy owner belittles the Titan, they are only belittling a truck, and not a race of people.

I am sorry if you are now going to make a decision not to buy a great truck because of a discussion thread you started on a bulletin board that has nothing to do with the topic you posted.

I can only speak for myself, but that logic is almost like saying you will never buy Levi's again because Martha Stuart got arrested. Just doesn't make any sense.

While I did not send you the PM, I did recieve a copy of it and will support the other mods in thier decision on this. This is a Nissan Titan board.

I served for 20 years and still continue to serve as a Gov employee supporting a lot of the efforts over there right now.

If you can't follow the guidelines, then I am sorry but we will do what we feel is necessary.

Just so everyone is aware, munkeebinis has been banned from posting on this board. I received dozens of emails from the members regarding his posts.

After giving munkeebinis a couple of warnings prior to his most recent posting, he went ahead and posted that tirade anyway. He even went so far as to try and recruit people to his side of the arguement and against the moderators.

Just the few postings in this thread before it was closed showed how wrong he was and how he upset the membership.

The moderators are in agreement on this and based on the rules that this forum was set up with, we decided to ban him from posting to keep this type of thing from happening in the future.

The moderators were selected by the forum leader and agreed to maintain the forum rules. If this upsets any of you I apologize, but we all agreed to these rules when we joined the forum.
