Good to see another Coastie in here Yellodog (even though I have been out of the CG for 4+ years now). Looks like we got the same Titan too.

USN to DOD

I spent 4 years as an Electronics Technician in the Navy, with two years as a Crypto Repair Tech. I stayed in the reserves to help expenses while going through college, and then when I got my degree and they refused to give me a commission I quit and went to work for the Dept of Defense as a civilian. I spent 1 year in Italy, 5 years in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 4.5 years in Guantanamo Bay Cuba, 5 years in Germany and a year in the Balkans. While in the Balkans we used mostly turbo Pajaro's, and could only go in convoys of at least two vehicles, with an armed soldier in each vehicle. I left the Balkans in 1999 when we had about 20,000 soldiers still there, and we probably still have that many down there, we just never hear about them anymore. Guantanamo Bay was probably one of the Navys best kept secrets as far as a great duty location. Imagine living on a bay the size of the San Francisco Bay, with the weather being warm and fairly mild all year long. Many of us had our own boats and we could leave work in the afternoon and be on the bay within about 45 minutes. We trolled gigantic lures with trebble hooks, so that if anything interrupted our beer drinking it would be worth the effort. I'll bet it hasn't changed all that much, even with the new prison facility there.

Service

US Army MP Squad Leader in the National Guard MOS 31B (Used to be 95B)(13 years). Before that US Navy EOD Diver NEC 5339 (6 years)

Seen both sides and 35 countries so far. Probably headed to Afghanistan next year. Shame not able to take some Titans with us. Think they would work so much better for working in those mountains.

The one I got climbs most mountains out West here just fine. Gets me to the range and back just fine. Dogs like it, wife likes it and I think if they put a diesel engine in it, I will sell the one I got and get that one.

romper, when did you get your Titan, and what does it look like?

So you finish up with OBC yet? I'm guessing you were FSXXI 58's. I'm currently waiting for AQC, and have been for over a month.

Good to see more Rucker area Titan owners. There seem to be a lot of Titans around here, need to get more of them on TT, maybe arrange a get together.

Looks interesting, but I probably wouldn't get out to too many functions. I should be starting an AQC soon (which one I don't know ) and that'll be taking up 99.999999% of my time. Until then I'm trying to finish up my audio install.

I did about 8 years in the Army, and spent about 5 months in Iraq. I was lucky in that aspect. I was a critical care nurse (66H8A). After a trip to Iraq, I decided to do an interservice transfer and switched to the US Public Health Service. The PHS is one of the uniformed services, so benefits and pay are the same. I decided that if I was going to work with prisoners, I would rather do it state side, and go home every night to my wife, son and Titan. I am now working with the Bureau of Prisons, and currently enjoy my job. I just picked up O-3, and with the E-pay, things are good for the moment. Maybe now I can afford some more mods for my Titan. The PHS is great, and I am awaiting a "deployment" to the hurricane areas where I can assist others in transitioning back to a somewhat normal life.
