I was in the Navy for 5 years (84-89). USS Oldendorf DD-972, and USS Gallant MSO-489 (Note to self...don't volunteer to serve on a 30 year old wooden ship in the next life) Operations Specialist, E-6. Been an air traffic controller since 1990, and love it, but wouldn't trade those 5 Navy years for any other 5, before or since.
Here's another retired bubblehead for you. Skipjack, Gato, Silversides, and MSP. Also did shore duty at NavSubScol, and a tour on USS Frank Cable when she was in Chasn.

[FONT=Arial]Good to see all the squids with titans! I am an E-6 with 9 years in. Air traffic controller stationed at NAS Whidbey Island. Just transferred here. I just spent the last 2 years on the USS Lincoln and their infamous 10 month deployment. Before that I was stationed on Diego Garcia with the good ol' Air Force for 13 months. So far I have only seen one other Titan here on base besides mine. I have the only Galaxy Black CC LE on the Island, so that is pretty sweet!
I am an O-2 in the Air Force. I too am in Pensacola and was winged back in june. I was selected to Fly F-15Es as a WSO. The centrifuge gave me a few probs and so i am now going to go fly B-1s. I am happy since i am from Texas and the B-1 is an awesome airframe.
I was an E-4/SPC, Active Army, for 3 years. Cavalry Scout, 19D. Drove a LAV/Stryker, humvees, and whatnot. Had fun at times, some times it just plain sucked, most of the time I was a bit bored. Half of my buddies are out now, half of them are still in. Two of them in Iraq along with other people I used to work with, sucking sand. Hope they all get back ok... a few of them have not.
I was an Operations Specialist Anti-sub warfare controller (tried to be an AC when I got in but was going to have to wait too long) in Yokosuka and Treasure Island, when it was still Navy. Been to Diego Garcia a few times and always kind of liked it there.
I'm an air traffic controller with the FAA in the DFW area now...there's plenty of former AC's working here. You ought to give FAA ATC a look, we're going to be hiring big-time over the next few years....

Yeah, well I kinda re-upped a few months ago, so it looks like I will be in for the full 20. I'll be 30 in December, and my original EAOS was like October of 05 before I re-upped. It only gave me a few months before I hit 31 to get hired, and with a family to support it's sort of a no brainer. I was really leaning toward the FAA, but needed to make a quick decision. Guess I shoulda been looking at this point a few years ago, huh? Well, at least I got my Titan out of the deal!
