Hey FLfinfan,

Lookin to focus on building alittle more bulk in the back. What do you suggest. Im 6'2" 260lbs been lifting for about 5 years, just can't get the cut i want in the upper back/lower shoulders. Just above the traps.

Thanks

Ill tell you, I think it is just that us younger guys have great taste. We are more sophisticated for our age. That is a compliment by the way. Either way, we are all in the same pool now.

Tiki, something that has worked wonders for me in that area has been Shrugs and Upright Rows. Also, look for a machine called Ground Breaker. Entire upper body workout, front and back. I'm 6'1 270. I used to workout then blew out my knee and just go plain lazy. Now I am back in it. I was 300lbs 3 months ago. I have lost 30lbs and 5 inches. Things are going great now.

Just above the traps? You mean in your head or neck? Traps connect the top of the shoulder to the neck. Do you mean rhomboids (spelling?) For cuts, reps reps reps. For bulk heavier weight. For both, mix it up, do pyramid workouts.

1.High-pulls (upright rows)
2. Shrugs
3. Pull-ups
4. Tread water with arms only
5. Upper body stationary bike
6. Regular rowing at a higher angle of pull
7. Assorted upper back machines
8. Neck exercises, pushing up, down, side to side against medium to mild resistance.
9. Bent-over rows

My Mom used to say to me, "And you expect me to believe that you couldn't have found a phone to call and tell me where you were, young man?"

Now a days, this would have a whole different meaning now wouldn't it?

I got a cell phone when I was 16. At first I was great, however my parents ruined it. One way to get your kid to hate it, is make them realize it is an electronic leash. Constantly call them and ask them where they are at, when they are coming home, and what time. They will hate it and figure out they dont want it anymore. My mom still calls me asking me those questions. I love it now though, even though she lives like 5 minutes away. Good luck.

You got a cell phone at 16? When I was 16, the PC hadn't even been invented. Talk about spoiled, you have no idea how easy you have it. :LOL

I'm 41 with 2 young clones - 7 and 4 years old. They do grow up too fast - but you have to remind yourself of it everyday...

I'm hoping my boys will be stronger and faster than I ever was. One is beefy and one is lean - it will be interesting watching them grow into little men!

I've managed to fight off Father Time also by working out for the past 20 years.
