Got Smoked yesterday

Well, I guess I would discuss how I got smoked yesterday. Everyone has been bragging about their success' but I just wanted to let everyone know of my defeat.

The Matchup:
2004 Nissan Titan XE CC Sedona
vs.
2004 Chrysler Crossfire Red

Well, we met at a light before a long straight away (100yards). He looked at me, I looked at him. He rolled down his window, I rolled down mine. He said nice truck, I said nice car. I asked if he wanted to go just for kicks. He said sure. Light turned green. It was really close for the first 10 yards and then he started to pull away. We both slowed down about 60 yards down the road. He smiled with a thumbs up and I nodded. He whoped my butt and he knew it, but he was cool about it. He knew I had a truck and he had a sports car.

Great fun. I am not a big racer and whatnot but it is fun to race vehicles I dont think I can beat. Anybody else got there butt whooped yet???

Don't know what they run but no they do not have a hemi. If fact, they don't even have an 8 cylinder option yet. This will come next year and it will be the same 4.3 V8 that powers the current Mercedes vehicles carring the digits "430" in their name.

Peanutbutter, you failed to mention the 9,000 pound trailer you were towing at the time!

its a pretty sweat car, but very underpowered. That is the biggest turnoff, and probably why you never see them on the road. Why spend all that money for 215hp. I can buy a 89 camaro for 1/16 the price and get that many horses.

i was just posting the spec's on it. I don't want one. I would rather have a vette for a sports car.

Reding the specs on the Crossfire it almost directly resembles the 84-89 300ZX's. Respectable 1/4 mile times, sporty appearance but best overall suited as a Grand Touring (GT) car.

Give it time though. I am sure those Crossfire guys will find ways in the same way the Z drivers did to make them better/faster.

In fact, here are the results of a Z31 last night from a track:

1st run 13.9 @ 109mph, I forgot to increase the boost, I had the Hallman boost controller out all the way, so I was only able to generate 16psi

2nd run I ran a 13.4 @ 115mph at 19psi slight detonation

3rd run ran a 13.3 @ 114mph 19psi slight detonation

4th run I was going to back off the timing a bit, but the staging lanes were moving way too fast to get it done, so I left it as is
ran a 13.3 @ 108mph

It could be me. Just couldnt do it though. It was for fun. Nobody ahead of us, noone coming at us. Just something to see if I could do it. I will post other races I lose. Who cares about the ones you win, its about revenge on the ones you lose too.
