Roy Jones Fight, Dont Look Unless You Want To Know

Roy Jones just got knocked out in the 2nd round. Unbelievable. Great, clean left from Tarver. I cant believe it. I love Roy Jones. Damn, but you just cant say anything bad about Tarver. He never backed down, and he clocked him good. As soon as he hit Jones, Jones was out. Damn.

I am having a hard time agreeing with the referee's decision to end the fight that quickly. Sure, it was one hell of a punch. But I just think that a fighter like Roy Jones can come back from that and continue to fight. Not even 5-10 seconds after the fight ended, he looked ready to go to me. And he was up in time. Oh well, at least it was only 17.8 cents per second this time versus the $1.25 per second I paid for the Tyson vs. Etienne fight.

Guess there will be a Jones VS Tarver III now. More money for PPV.

Actually, Jones said he will more than likely go to heavyweight or retire. He said that he cant get "pumped up" for these fights anymore. Who knows. However, I dont think this one fight will tarnish his career. He is the best pound for pound fighter in the last decade. Tarver will never get that title because of his lack of big fights and age. Hopefully Tarver will go to heavyweight though and fight Vitaly. I would buy that in a second.

Wow, thats strange - you figure he would want to redeem himself against Tarver. But you are correct about Roy, he is an impressive fighter, never seen someone so focused and in shape as he. I didn't see the fight but still can't believe he was knocked out. Tarver must be pretty good too.

Tarver is a very good fighter, even before the Jones saga began. He just quit for about 4 years and said that Jones' stardom got him back into it. Thus, 24 fights at 35 years old. Before Jones, he fought Eric Harding twice. In the first fight, Harding broke Tarvers' jaw early in the fight and Tarver made it a 12 round decision in which he lost. He revenged that loss with a 5th round KO couple of years later. Big guy, pretty fast, and he is a southpaw. I hope Jones continues to fight, but I just dont see it. The only fight I see for him is a heavyweight title fight. If he wins that, he will retire. If he loses, he will fight one more big money fight and then leave. Good fight next weekend on HBO, CHOP CHOP Corley vs. Mayweather. Should be fun. Cant wait for the Mayorga vs. Trinidad fight. Should be non stop action.

traver is pretty damn good and he gives it up for jones saying he is a great fighter too. In the amatuers they said they spared to a stand still and neither could get an advantage over the other. I think coming down from heavyweight effected jones but how good tarver is met up with that and layed jones out. He was getting a big ego anyway he needed to be knocked out. He will be back and better then ever.
