Need Travel Trailer Advice....

I'm totally green when it comes to this subject but have been looking around lately doing some comparisons on travel trailers. My wife and I are thinking seriously about buying one that we found a couple of weeks ago. It's a new 27ft. super slide Rockwood made by Forest River. It comes with a bunch of accesories and niceties. For those of you who are seasoned campers is this a good camper to be looking at? The retail on it is $24,159 and the guy offered to sell it to me for 19,300 including a load leveling hitch and brake controller. I can't find a site that tells me invoice on these trailers but this sounds like a heck of a deal. My wife and I love the layout of it and everything. Actually we put a deposit on it today, of which is fully refundable if we don't decide to buy it.

This unit comes with a 19" TV/DVD and surround sound, outside gas grill, outside shower head (that one sounds kind of kinky), well basically it comes with everything for that quoted price. This RV sales center is huge and just started business 3 months ago so the owner, of whom I got the quote from, is just trying to get his name out there and roll these things to help get his business established.

It sounds like a heck of a deal to me, what do you all think???

Thanks CT for the links. I just looking at RV direct and it looks like I'm getting a heck of a deal like I thought. I never make any large purchases without researching it to death and this helps me get going. Thanks again.

You can get good discounts at the large RV shows in winter, 20% is the norm. I don't think you will see a price so low later that will make you regret buying now and enjoying it all summer.

Question

Can anyone post a "top ten" list of trailer manufacturers to buy from. Our family had one 30 years ago and lots of changes have come about since then. I need to know which trailers have metal structure and rubberized seamless roofs. I have heard that these are two "biggies" to look for when buying.

Dale,

I know very little about travel trailors also, but there is a company that
makes them in this little town that I live in. They have been here for as
long as I can remember and recently built a new facility.

They may be worth checking out at Trailmanor.com

I know you are in Atlanta, which isn't all that far from Knoxville.
If you are interested they probably have a dealer near you.
