One eyed GM trucks and SUV's

I've been wondering this for a long time now. How come just about every GM truck or SUV you see with the parking lights turned on has just one of the lights burning? I've noticed this for a few years now. Has anyone else noticed this?

Ha! I thought I was the only one noticing that :-)

Yep, in at least 50% of the cases one of the little lights seems to be out, must be really crappy quality. Reminds me of the Cadillacs with the third brake light made up of a few dozen little lights. Seems at least two of those are always on the blink as well.

My Tahoe did that. They didn't put any lube on the lamps (electrical) at the factory I guess. I replaced my bulb (and then my Tahoe- hehehe) but I know a lot of people who just say puckit.

It's because they are GM's. They come with one light out as ''standard equipment."

Piston slap knocks them loose but it's within spec for GM I'm sure.

Ive noticed it A LOT around here also. My 98 Tahoe sport never had any problems for 4 years though. I notice it mostly on GMC/Chebby pickups from 2000-2002

All of the lights worked on my GMC but one side may have been hidden by the blue smoke coming out of it so you may have mistaken it for a burned out light. But after a year I was told it was within spec and I was listed as a dissatisfied customer and my file was closed. 2 weeks later I was driving a Titan.

This is weird, but I had never noticed this phenomenon. I chuckled at the thread and made a mental note to keep an eye on my father-in-laws Chevy. Then coming home from work yesterday I looked in the mirror and low and behold a one eyed Silverado was staring back at me.
