Reminds me of Gary Bussey and his distaste for helmets.
At least he survived his accident without one. Laws aside,
doing stunts seems like a good time to have one on.

My son has a mini bike, and we make him wear a helmet when
he rides it in the front yard. One day, he fell over with it like
the guy on Laugh In used to do with the tricycle, and his head
hit the edge of the porch. Didn't phase him at all, but I wonder
what it might have been like without the helmet?

"He was riding and standing up on his seat," said Mike Downs, Cabarrus County deputy county manager. "The bike started to wobble and he was not able to regain control."

"Hey ya'll watch this..."

At least he taught the 8,000 people in attendance 2 important lessons.

1. Wear a helmet.
2. DON'T STAND UP ON YOUR MOTORCYCLE AND LET GO OF THE BARS.

He was shown doing this on several of the Biker Build-off episodes. I always wondered how many kids are out there trying to do the same thing.

So long Indian Larry...

God Speed to a bike building legend.

In the world of overdone choppers, his old school style choppers will be missed.

I remember when he won the 'biker build-off' on Discovery channel. He cut up the trophy into a dozen pieces and threw them into the crowd saying something like "building bikes makes us all winners". He was a class act.

Beating out the likes of Paul Yafee: http://www.paulyaffeoriginals.com/ , Billy Lane: http://www.choppersinc.com/ and Roger Bourget: http://www.bourgets.com/pages/news_01.html.

He was quite a character: http://www.indianlarry.com/

R.I.P. "Indian Larry".

"a guy that would extend a helping hand to his competition and share a trophy when he didn't have to has more class than a three piece suit." BMWconfused, F60.com
