Google it, ebay and paypal 99% side with the buyer. Ive seen people sell cameras and get returned cameras that dont work with marker all over them from a refurb joint
I remember seeing someone on the GTO forum, who turned down lot's of sales, because he had gotten screwed through PP. If this goes through, I'll likely do the same as Anavirin. Always, take great pictures. I'm contacting the guy I bought it from, to get even more pictures. I have not contacted Paypal yet. The buyer texted me today that Fedex said I had to file the claim. I didn;t have time today, but I don't know if it's even worth my time. It's been over 30 days. I guess I will have to look up the policy.
Paypal can not pull money from your bank account for a refund without your okay and they can't pull money from your account unless you mark that you received the damaged goods. You sold the part as is and for all you know the part was installed the day the guy got it. Call paypal and see what they say, if they give you an sh$t close the account.
Or you can tell the buyer to hold on to the part and when you have the money in your paypal account he can ship it too and pay for shipping and when the part arrives you will refund him the money. DO NOT GIVE HIM A DIME UNTIL THE PART IS IN YOUR HANDS. No on line retailer refunds before getting the product back, why should you.
I am an ebay seller and deal with goofy scams all the time, you might be surprised at how many try to scam for small $$$ amounts.

paypal will pay him back, and then send a collection agency after you for the total amount
Where is this guy located, I bet there is a titan around him somewhere that would be willing to go take a look?

Update. I contacted the previous owner. He had it in a performabuilt 4l65e, which is the trans I said it would fit. This guy actually PMed
Him and said he could not get it to fit and mentioned nothing about damage. Got him, I hope. He couldn't get it to fit even though it is for his trans (basically he doesn't know how to install it), and now he is trying to make me eat the cost of his

So basically he tried to force the convertor to fit on to a non-compatible transmission with a slightly larger shaft??? yeah, he Fahked it up!!!
Well his car should have a 60 or 65. Which it would fit both. But yeah he didn't know what he was doing. Not sure on any
Other upgrades to his car. If I was sure Paypal would have my back I wouldn't even bother with FedEx. I need to call PayPal like mentioned. I'm having him send me more pics.
I guess I win. It has been longer then 45 days. You are supposed to file within 45 days. I guess going through FedEx bought me enough time. I know they will deny it. A big loss for the scammer. Although I don't think he is the typical scammer. He just had an accident and didn't know how to properly screw me.
He tried to file a claim today. I just got the email from paypal, which mentioned the claim was deferred and could not be completed in the resolution center, because it has been passed 45 days.
