You thought hitting a deer was bad

And you thought hitting a deer is bad. Look at this!!

MOOSE STORY

The following pictures are of a moose that went through a car's
windshield this month near South River, Ontario.

The VERY lucky woman driver ended up with just a
broken wrist and needing a good bath.

When you view the pictures you will wonder how the woman managed
to survive.

If it was me I think the bath needed would be where I crapped on myself.

There was another Moose hit here in ND. Driver was killed, moose not found. They identified it was a moose by the fur/blood left behind.
Scary.

I thought Rocky was a squirrel?
I ran over a ground hog last year, or was it a beaver? Damn
thing ran in front of my real wheel. We've got a new road
kill law here in Tennessee. You kill it, you can keep it. But I
hear most of it is being exported to Chicago pizzerias.

So glad I bought a Titan. If I still had my trade-in (99 sentra) I would be dead.

Apparently slow and steady didn't win that race!

My wife has a problem with garage doors getting narrower just as the mirror gets to them and once the mirror is gone the doorway gets big again

I did have a deer commit suicide on the side of my van in a Tennessee state park a few years back. I was only going 20 mph and big bang as a dark blur passed my drivers window. A little diff in speed and he would have been in my lap. Bent front fender into the hood and door so while towing the camper home I had to crawl out thru the other side at every stop.

On the highway that goes from Anchorage down to the Kenai (Homer) they smack alot of moose every year. I think they have some kind of program where the road kill moose meat goes to the needy.

I had one running right along side a jeep I was driving on a dirt road in Alaska at about 30 MPH for quite a distance. It was pretty exciting to have the moose's head right outside my open window.

Interesting article. With 600 moose deaths a year from cars I wonder how many human deaths that is. At average $15k vehicle damge you think the insurance industry might want to support building the fences and underpasses.

We get a couple fried Rockies here each year. They like to play on the power transformers. You hear an explosion, your lights go out, you go out and look and there's a crisp black smoking Rockie on the ground. Happens about twice every year.

I nearly took out a deer once with the prop of a Piper Cherokee. I ended up knicking the bugger as I was landing at night and he just shot out from my peripheral vision as I was slowing on the landing roll. Never saw how bad he got it though minus the blood on the prop, he took off into the woods.
