Did anyone else go to Barrett Jackson in Scottsdale?
We drove about 13 hours and hung around thursday and friday. There were some smokin deals friday night around 11:15. Even got to sneak into the bidders section.
Anyway, no Titans anywhere...but lots of Raptors. Got to ride in the Bondurant Corvette. If you are lucky enough to get a seat in the stands you get to watch the cars go across and watch 20 year old babes prowl for a sugar daddy.
The original batmobile sold for $4.6 million. Prices were up from last year.
I went last year with my pop!! Unfortunately I just watched on tv this year it's like an automotive pilgrimage!! Ahaha you got any more pics? Put them up!!
haha yeah. All the ones in the Salon Showcase sell for a ton of money. That is the best night to watch, but it gets crazy crowded. This is my third year to go. It really is a blast.
That one you pointed out was a Delahaye. It has gold plating in the interior. You can also see Clark Gables Gullwing in the upper right.
There was a 90-something year old Pierce-arrow that was owned by a guy named "fatty" Arbuckle for sale. The original price back then was $32,000. We were looking at the car with another couple guys and it turns out that one of the guys was the grandson of Fatty. He showed us his name and shared some info about it. Pretty neat.
AZPRO4X- You need to go next year. If you go after 5, it's half price. But you don't get to ride in the Bondurant Corvette (or the GT500 if mustangs are your thing).
I only took a few pics with my phone to show people who are interested in certain cars. My friend took some more with a camera but I don't have those yet. The last couple of years I went crazy with the pics and then I realized they pretty much all look like crap (especially the outdoor ones) and I never look at them again.
Here are a few more though:
Sheriffs car from Andy Griffith:
Spyker - because I like the paint:
Fast and the Furious:
Sweet 1969 Camaro with some extras in the background:
I always like watching on TV. I have always wondered if it costs money to get in and how much.
I like to record it and watch the times when I was actually there. You get some info from the announcers on TV that you wouldn't otherwise know.
It's fun to hang around the staging area and they will rev the engines and stuff. You also get to see grown men cry when their hot rod goes across and only sells for $20,000.
Friday and saturday are $50 for the day (half price after 5). The other days are $30 or so....I can't remember exactly as I used a student I.D.
Being a car/truck buff, I drool watching it on tv. I have it on my bucket list to attend hopefully once. I would be a window shopper though, to expensive for my blood.
