There is a proposed bill working throught the ND legislature right now that removes the current CWP process (classes, test and local PD approval) with the only requiremnt being that you have a valid state Driver License.

Re: Feinstein to submit assault weapons ban tomorrow
There was an article on MSNBC today about certain sheriff departments stating their policemen would not enforce unconstitutional federal laws regarding gun control. This issue is bigger than most people think.

really not apples to apples since finger printing is thrown in there and ID is the only thing in common in the tug of war between the parties. simply put, GUNS: constitutional right to own a gun except for convicted felons (or specifically prohibited); show an id requirement to buy a gun already in place to prevent those prohibited from doing so from violating the law. VOTE: constitutonal right to vote except for convicted felons (or specifically prohibited); GOP want people to show an ID to prevent those prohibited from voting from doing so.... the opposite of what democrats want. hope this clears up the Irony for you kronos.

For the record, I have no problem with the concept of showing an ID to vote. Now, to address your post.
Regardless as to what state laws currently exist for purchasing guns you know dam well there are those (even those on this website) who think the current gun laws go too far. There are those (on this website) who have said the gun buying process should be as simple as walking to into a store, paying and walking out with a gun.
So yes. Both sides are being hypocritical about when and where they want to put limits and legislation regarding our constitutional rights.
Re: Feinstein to submit assault weapons ban tomorrow
All I know is that Obama and the libs have increased gun ownership and put more guns on the street in the last 4 years than in any other 4 year period in history. Keep up the good work you dumbasses. This crap will never pass.
