Who will win the College Football Championship?

Who do you think is going to win the college football championship? USC versus Oklahoma is going to be an exciting game. I feel bad for Auburn and Cal getting screwed. USC got screwed last year by the BCS system so I know how their fans feel.

GO USC!!! FIGHT ON!!!

Auburn is the best team in college football. They beat tough top 15 teams like Georgia, Tennessee, and LSU all of which could easily beat USC. USC had a powder puff schedule and when they played a team that was half way good such as Stanford and UCLA, they barely won.

Again, the BCS fails to match up the best teams.

I voted OK because I want a BigXII team to win it. This time of year I'm for all the Big XII teams. It almost pains me to say it, but I'm rooting for Texas, Texas Tech, & Oklahoma State in addition to my Aggies. We have the potential to make quite a statement to the rest of the nation if they all make a good showing.

I'm glad it's USC vs. Oklahoma. Nothing like seeing two teams with two heisman trophy candidates on each team go head to head. I personally think Cal got jacked.

Powder puff schedule? Well we tried to schedule nonconference games with a challenging Div. 1-AA team like Auburn did (Citadel?) but we could only get Notre Dame and VA Tech. When was the last time Auburn scheduled a good nonconference opponent? Wasn't it last year versus the Trojans when Auburn got shut-out at home 23-0. Teamrankings.com and other sites have the Trojans with a tougher ranked schedule then Auburn and Oklahoma. If USC had a powder puff schedule, then so did Auburn. Like I said, I feel bad for Auburn and the BCS system sucks, but don't go sour grapes on Oklahoma or USC because the system did not put Auburn in the title game. USC went undefeated while ranked #1 throughout the entire regular season - that is very tough to do because every team on your schedule gets fired-up to knock you down the rankings.

Actually, there are 4 Heisman candidates (Leinart, Bush, White, and Peterson). The depth of talent on both teams is deep and the coaches are among the best. I hope the game lives up to how it looks thus far on paper. I can't wait to see the OU offensive line go head to head with the USC defensive line.

Wow. Who had the toughest schedule in the nation? We got out of there 7-4 after a 4-8 season last year. I'm happy with our season, minus a horrendous Baylor loss. I hope the Paperclips pull one out this year against USC.

To get back on topic, I think USC will win because their strong passing game is OU's weakness, that is, bad secondary play. As for USC's defense, I have not seen any obvious weaknesses. Cal is the only team that did pretty well against them. AP is a burner on the corners, but I think USC will be ready for that. Both teams have difference makers on special teams, Reggie Bush and Mark Clayton, but I think USC's guy is just a little more special.

OU Offense vs. USC Defense: Even
USC offense vs. OU Defense: Big advantage USC
Special teams: Slight advantage USC.

OU will want a low scoring game. If Leinart gets rolling, it could be a long day for the Sooners. If OU can keep the ball on the ground and chew up some clock with AP, it should be a very competitive game. I think Leinart will light them up a few times and that will be the difference.

USC 31
OU 21

However, much as it pains me as a Texas fan, I'll be rooting for OU and conference pride. Especially after all the smack the Pac-10 has talked in the last 24 hours.

Hook 'Em.

Yeah, y'all played 3 teams that won at least 10 games each, and lost to all three, no shame in that coming off a 4-8 season. Other than the Baylor loss, I think it was a pretty solid season for aTm.

Sorry caltitan, didn't mean to rattle your cage. You know how Bayou Titan stirs stuff up occasionally. Like some of my other replies, I shouldn't have been so overbearing.

Agree Gig'em, I root for all Big 12 except ut- somehow I just can't bring myself to do it! Might have something to do with the entire family (except one daughter) and all son-in-laws went to TAMU.

No prob Bayou. I've read many of your posts to know you mean no malice. Neither do I. We just have passion for the game. I too hate to see these college kids play their hearts out and not be given a chance at a championship. The NCAA needs to just change it all and have a playoff format. There is no other way.

go sooooners babay, and Adrain peterson is the best back in college football since ricky williams/ LaDainian Tomlinson

so thats my heisman pick if I had one

but yes I am biased

and I too think cal got jacked along with auburn. as much as I like wathching usc play, both OU, and auburn had tougher shcedules. the only reason usc was #1 is that htey started the polls at #1 and to me thats not fair for them to stay there the whole time since the pac 10 was so weak this year

GOOOOO SOOOOONERS!!!!!!
