Check out this story. This happened very close to me. I go to a different church though. It is about a pastor who died while giving his sermon, mid sentence, after saying he will die after his work here is finished:

I've never understood why seemingly intelligent people willingly waster their time, money and energy on religion.
If there is a god, let him strike me down where I sit!
I have never understood why seemingly intelligent people make inflamatory needless comments like this. If you dont like it, ignore it and leave people alone.
I saw this early this am and forwarded it to my pastor. We are Methodist and our pastor quite frequently quotes the founder of Methodism, John Wesley in his sermons.

Because this is the OT section on an internet forum. People come to OT to yak.

Attacking someone for core beliefs is not yaking. When people say things like this, it almost seems a cry to be convinced of why they should give faith a try. If you really thought this a ignorant behavior and could care less about it yourself, you would have just laughed and went to the next thread. That is unless you wanted to be flamed.
Well the timing was pretty good.
My dad was an MD. & Elder & on occasion was interrupted during service. Some members who were old or sick would muster the strength to attend with one intention… to die during the service. For some members this became a weekly occurrence.

I'm sorry Optimist, but I just can't help myself!!! How in the world did these members "die during the service" yet apparently for some it became a weekly occurrence? By some chance these weren't cats with 9 lives were they?
