CCNA Training Question

I was looking at the Boson NetSim Router Simulation and was wondering if anyone here has used it in preparing for the CCNA. I'd like to know what you thought of it. One of the goals listed on my last performance evaluation was to complete my CCNA. Amazon has it for $105. Of course I'll have my employer reimburse me for the cost if it is worthwhile to get.

My apologies to those of you that may read this thread and not understand the topic but I'm sure there are a lot of network folks here that can help me out.

I have a 4000 at the house, that's what I used ... depending on your need and time frame, I may be able to find a copy of the Cisco routerCim.

otherwise, I could clear off the 4000 and ship it to you under agreement that if you keep it, you bought it. No interfaces so you have to config the virtual ... but th eoffer is there.

Thanks for the offer. I actually have a 3640 with an ethernet interface and a 4 port T1(IMA) interface. I'd like to have a simulator to build larger networks and play with network addressing, and configuring various interfaces. Thanks again.

If you work on Cisco's on a daily basis I don't think you will need to do much more than read over the book. Last time I took it I just took a couple of Boson tests to make sure I was OK and passed with no problem. It all depends on how much hands on you have. I managed 1,800 Cisco routers at the time so hands on was no problem for me.

I actually studied hard for the CCNA test ... then never took it ... 18 months later, a friend bet me he could do better then I could ...

so on a dare I took it after skimming the exam cram ... from the time i signed in until i left was 22 minutes ... piece of cake ... this was CCNA 2.0 version ... so fast they thought I cheated and had to review the tape before I left. I hear the newer version is a bit harder than previous versions.

My network guy (CCNP) says it's good, but the Sybex book is better and cheaper.
