The Enemy Within - Michael Savage

I just bought the book. I thought about getting "Liberalism is a Metal Disorder", but I wasn't really familiar with the topics listed in the TOC, so I went with this book, which talks about topics closer and more familiar to my heart: "Saving America from the liberal assault on our schools, faith and military".

I found his show when I got bored on my hour commute to work and started surfing the AM stations here in Houston. Found it on AM 950. It's a pretty good talk show, although he can be a little rough some times. But, if that's what it takes to combat

the idiocy of the liberal

left, then so be it.

I'll update on this thread what I think about this book, and any cool quotes I find.

And remember, I'm not trying to get political in here. Just an old fasioned book discussion, a la Oprah's book club

Okay, I finished the Preface and the first chapter, and I've gotta say this book is quite catching and very much a page turner.

I would say I only recommend this book to people who are sick of the liberal media & politicians shoving their socialist down our throats through the ACLU and the liberal, corrupt court systems, but the fact is EVERYONE needs to read this book just to be reminded how far this great country has strayed from our roots.

In Chapter 1, Savage points out that the liberal left is slowly erasing and retelling our history to be socially correct, changing "Founding Fathers" to "Founding Framers" to be more inclusive of women. It's these same people who change the 3 firefighters at the 9/11 scene from 3 white guys that happened to plant the flag (truth) to 3 mixed firefighters to be culturally acceptable (false).

He points out this this country was founded on Christian principles, on the Ten Commandments, with a focus on the family, on God, on pride for our country and it's citizens. THAT IS WHAT MADE AMERICA THE COUNTRY THAT EVERY OTHER COUNTRY WANTED TO BE.

That is what made America the blessed, free country that so many immigrant of years past came to live in.

And now, the liberal left is trying to change that, to give the people of the most free country in the world (past and present) more "freedoms". Freedom from God, freedom from language, freedom from moral discrimination, and freedom from national pride and independence.

They (liberal left) are trying to turn us into the fascist & socialist countries that failed so many times so many years ago. Aparently they didn't learn. Aparently they didn't realize America;s ways of doing things worked (God, family, morals, national pride) and the Russian, German, Korean, Chinese, and other countries' ways of goverment didn't work.

Which countries are some of the most blessed, most free, and most desirable to live in? Britian & America. Countries founded on God. Which countries failed the hardest, corrupting & killing their own people while reducing the standard of living for those still alive? The communist countries that removed God from the country (Russia, China, etc).

Interesting, isn't it?

So basically you're just reading a book that reinforces the bias you already obviously have? Sounds like a recipe for continued closed-mindedness, which, of course, is the opposite of liberalism. Enjoy. I bet you love that blonde liar as well.

And equating liberals with the little homophobic limp-wristed emoticon is pretty weak. Too bad there's not a Nazi or Klansman emoticon.

See, that's what the liberal media has been telling people for the past 30 years, that the "liberal" agenda is the only agenda that offers real, complete freedom, which includes freedom of thought, expression, and opinion. Yet, in reality, they are doing the complete opposite. They say they want to offer freedom of religion, so they STOP allowing teachers & students to pray in school, and they QUIET our history and work to change it by removing the Ten Commandments from our courts, trying to hide the fact that our Founding Fathers blatantly said this country was founded on God and Christian principles.

The liberals have lost at the ballet box, where their ideas and agenda did not make it to Congressional representatives, where their ideas wont turn into law. Do they quit there? NO. They turn to filing 6000 lawsuits a year, turning the judicial system against congress. They go to liberal judges who they know will enforce their own laws contradictary to the constitution.

And now they are trying to change the constitution so that Congress does not have to power to lock in certain judges.

It amazes me how the liberal left is trying so hard to change this country and change who we are. When that happens, we will cease to be the great, independent, moral, God-fearing country we once were.

Why are the liberals so bent on pushing their own closeminded agenda on the majority of the American public? We (the people) vote to have our state constitutions changes to state marraige is between a man & a woman, and the liberals then attack the court system, fighting for the "rights" of a few people. I thought this was a democracy, run by the people. It hasn't looked that way lately...

Think I'd rather stick needles in my eyes than get into a political argument on the internet, but your post is timely, as I'm thinking about picking up the book too.
Savage is a complex dude. Funny, overserious, insightful, grandizing......I find him very interesting, and worth the read.

Savage Nation...Great show!! Michael's observations and ideas are very much like my own but, sometimes I wonder if the guy isn't a bit mental. Listening helps to make an otherwise boring commute enjoyable.

Absolutely! And not to hard on the eyes either. Ann Coulter's books are a long winded read but, she makes valid points, backed by good reseach. Liberals can't stand the facts. This is why liberals constantly attempt to rewrite history. You'd be surprised to hear the rhetoric that is propped up as fact in the liberally dominated education system today. Highly educated dumb a$$es that for the most part, could not make it in the real world.

i like to think of myself as in the middle, i take the dems view for abortion, and the rep. view for guns etc.

But i have to say m. savage is nuttier than a fruit cake. ill listen to gg liddy all day before savage or hannity.

you can always tell who the bull shi**ers are when they think their party does nothing wrong, like savage and hannity. democrat radio is the same way.

no party is perfect, they both have their flaws, but to think that one party does no wrong is just plain ignorant and un realistic.

gg liddy and oreilly seem like they are decent honest people that can understand both sides and make logical opinions regardless the party.

Not every democrat is a left looney tune like michael moore. just a select few with money. hard working dems tend to have a different view than those jack asses.

I think you need to listen to Savage and Hannity more. Savage is far from saying that the Rep Party has done nothing wrong, in fact, just the opposite.
He is harder on them and their lack of balls for not standing up more for the conservative. Hannity tends to be a bit more forgiving but has on numerous occasions spoken out against President Bush on several issues. For example, he does not agree with President Bush on his immigration policy.

But I do agree that there are some nut jobs on both side of the fence.

Hey Farmer, I think that is his point. We are exposed to only one side in the main stream media and its great getting a different point of view.

Think about it, why are the most popular TV and Radio shows tend to be more on the conservative side? I tell you why, because this country gets tired of the same old bull from your Dan Rather and Barbara Walters and the same old bull that is printed in the New York Time and other Left bias papers.

Don't you think there is a good reason while most newspaper companies like SF Examiner and news show's such as NightLine have the lowest ratings ever, while people and news like Savage, Hannity, Fox News, Drudge Report and NewsMax are grabbing all the ratings?

Now if you want to go one step further, this is all why the left are pushing in to our school's, because they are loosing in all the other traditional ways of the past and need to start with the most impressionable, our kids! Its quite sad really, the left have to pick on the little guys because it’s the only way they think they can win. Pretty pathetic.
