I Hate Being 23 (Almost 24!!!!)

So, nothing was going on tonight with people from church, and Big Texas Saloon is only 0.5 miles from my apartment, so I decided to go dancing solo. Big Texas is the perfect backup plan.

So, I'm dancing with a few random chicks, and I see this amazing looking chick with her friends. And she is dancing a little bit, jumping up and down, so I approach her and say "well, it seems you're already dancing, mind if I join you?" or something along those lines. She smiles super big, and says yes. So we dance a few songs, and they play some Country & Western swing, so we dance, and I pull out a few old moves.

She is quite impressed, and I'm impressed with her. She's cute, has a thin body, and a great smile. A 10 on my scales, and I'm hard to impress. So, I walk off, and dance with some other chicks, and play it cool.

Well, later in the evening (20 min +) she walks by and smiles at me. So, I play it cool, and she passes by again. This time, she approaches me, and we dance again. We keep talking, I meet her friends, and it seems to be going great. Well, I dance with her friend, and we talk, and I mention going to "Wild West Saloon" in Houston, and she says "that's a young crowd". I think "that's my type of crowd". So, I ask her for her age, and she says somewhere in the early 30's.

So, I dance with her friend again (Angie), and we keep talking. She likes tennis, sand volleyball, dancing, etc so I'm thinking this girl is perfect, so much in common. We dance some more, I spin her, pick her up, and she's light and in great shape, so I'm more and more impressed. So, I find out she's an accountant, and teaches salsa lessons for free. I say "so, how long have you been working". She says 4 years, and she has a degreee, so I'm thinking this isn't a good sign for Mike Shaw. So, I guess she is 27, and she says "that's right! I just turned 27 last month".

I'm good, what can I say?

Finally, she says "so, how old are you?" I try to beat around the bush, change the topic, etc, but she knows what I'm doing. She asks again, and I say "Well, I'm going to be 24 this summer".

Does any good response start with "I'm going to be..."???

NO! So, we keep talking for about 1 hr more, and I'm thinking it's cool, I've still got a chance at getting a number and dinner with her. It's going great, I dance with them to various rap songs, along with great country songs, singing all the words (which they seemed to enjoy), and making them laugh and telling jokes. I even BS'ed with their guy friend about FMC & the oil industry and crap like that. I few times I walked off, danced with some random hot chicks, and played it cool so I didn't seem overbearing or pushy. I gave her multiple outs. She never took them, and happily came back to me.

Well, towards the end of the night, Angie walked off, and her friend Johnny and some chick said bye and all that crap, and I never saw her again. She never came and said bye, or gave me a hug or anything.

A bunch of crap! Can you blame her though??? I mean, I'm 3+ years younger than her. Sure, I have a good career, and lots of other crap going for me, but the age thing really kills me. Sad thing is, there are no good colleges around here, so I'm underaged. And college chicks dont do it for me any more. I've seen what older chicks have, and it's much better. They have looks, skills, personality, and money all rolled into one.

I just need about 4 more years on me, and maybe girls that dont assume I'm so young.

Or girls that ask me what I drive, and will date a younger guy with a TITAN

I'd kill to be 23 again!!!!!!!!!! If you were my age she wouldn't have even danced with You! Enjoy the youth that you have while you have it. Someday soon you'll look in the mirror and it will be gone.

Don't let the age thing bother you. When I was 22 I hooked up with a 32 yr old. Amazing. But look at it from another perspective....I went to A&M after the Army, so when I started school I was already 26 years old.

And I joined a Fraternity (I love the Corps, but I had just got done playing Army for 5 years). Here I am at 26, and the average age of the girls is 19! I was the "dirty old man"! But in the end, I've found that age doesn't matter. In fact in all of my experience 99.9% of women in their late 20's are looking for some older rich guy, like MR.Big from Sex and the City to come and sweep them off their feet.

HOWEVER, the 30 something set of women are all about young guys, as it makes them fell good and attractive to know they can still land a younger guy. In which case, to them Age 24 = And I'm from Texas originally, so this applies. Just hang in there, and remember.....Gig 'Em!

This ain't right. I can see some sort of age discrimination years ago but not now. I'm thinking like juma. Maybe because she's an accountant she is looking at the numbers too closely.

My first wife was 10 years older than me and my present wife is 5 years older than me.

The only "issue" I have had with my wife being older is when some jerk face says something like " Oh, I thought that your wife was a little younger than you".

plus you have a couple of things goin for you..from what I've read...you can dance...you drive a bad ars truck.....and your career seems pretty stable...

And for those that don't know Chicks love guys that can dance.....I know cause I was a man whore back in the day....no but really, my buddy and I would go 3+ times a week to the dance hall, he would always hang out by the pool tables, I spent all my time on the dance floor....this his response everytime he would see me talkin to a little hottie "hey does she have a friend"
Dancin' is the key baby yeah.....plus he went for the sole purpose of gettin some....(never did)....I went mainly just to have a good time, meet some lovely ladies.....well ok and get some.........well lets say I didnt have any problems in any of my reasons for goin.....
