3rd D-lineman signs to play in college.

3 of my 4 D-lineman from this years team (I coach) have now signed to play college ball. Heres a article from todays paper.


Another Tiger signee. Lineman Calvin Rutgerson became the sixth H*** T****** football player to commit to a college when he recently signed with Maryville (Tenn.) College.

The 6-foot, 230-pound Rutgerson played on the offensive and defensive lines for the district champion Tigers.

He joins fellow Tigers Ray Herring (Notre Dame), Scott Alpizar (Harvard), Zac Wallingford (Columbia), Taylor Ray (Bucknell) and Brian Denison (Florida A&M) as college signees.

"Calvin is a very dedicated, gifted student-athlete and we are excited about his choice of colleges," H*** T****** football coach John Thomas said. "Maryville is an excellent school and I believe Calvin will be a great fit for their football program."

Rutgerson also was recruited by Jacksonville University, Emory and Henry in Virginia and Methodist College in North Carolina.
