"A DaimlerChrysler worker who defied a new policy by parking his GMC pickup truck in a spot reserved for Chrysler-only products will not have to pay for his vehicle being towed from the lot."

I wonder if they could fool the parking lot police by debadging their GMC or Ford vehicle, then sticking Chrysler badges on.

Owner Jim Davis said he towed two cars from the plant Monday without knowing the specifics of the new policy. After learning more, Davis said he decided to stop towing cars from the lot and would not charge owners of vehicles he had already hauled away.

"I thought we were towing them for being parked illegally until I learned the full scoop of it," said Davis. "Now we're not going to do it."

Davis is not alone in refusing to tow cars from the lot.

Don Ellmore, owner of Martin Wrecker Service, also turned down a job at the plant.

"We backed off for customer relations reasons," he said. "It's just not worth it to aggravate somebody."
To these 2 towing companies, I salute you.

I would get a paint ball gun and shoot the signs and then take a crappy beat up old ford and stick it right in the entrance to the chrysler only parking lot

Check out the results of the survey asking if you agree with their policy. I think they made a huge mistake implementing this policy based on the results. If this gets around, it can do nothing but hurt their bottom line.

The 18% that agreed are probably the workers at the plant that do drive Crudslers....

It said that 90% of the employee's drive D/C product. I can't believe that they made a policy against the 10%. It obvious that the 10% take up very little of the parking spots. Here they are complaining about their sales, yet won't think twice about the money they spent on painting new blue lines, new parking signs and all the time it took for the memo's and the warning tickets that they had put on the 10%.

What a bunch of dumb a**es!!!

I think it's kinda dumb that an employer will require their employees to park in their lot only if they drive a specific make of car. That's like my employer (Dell) telling me I can't park in their lot unless I own a Dell computer. Guess I wouldn't be able to, since I have a Gateway notebook and a Compaq notebook and use an Epson printer along with an HP Ipaq PDA. Might as well walk to work for that one and enjoy my Dell DJ along the way LOL

Well, this is bad press and is something that a smart company would fix fast.
