Anyone Have A Favorite Song?

My favorite song is a country song named Ragged Old Truck by Billy Joe Shaver. With this being a truck forum, I thought Ragged Old Truck would be an appropriate fit. Barely anyone I ask has ever heard of Billy Joe Shaver nor any of his songs but I find him to be very colorful and I like him both as a songwriter and a singer. He is a part of the old-school country artist that I liked and not like the nuevo-pop country sounds of today that I no longer listen to.

Ragged Old Truck came out about 1981 when I was going through the emotional wrenching of a divorce and some of the following lyrics hit home at the time:

“I laid on the bed with my gun to my head and I nearly ‘bout ended it all but I come to myself just before I get killed and I blowed me some holes in the walls. I’m thinkin’ ‘bout crankin’ my ragged ol’ truck up and haulin’ myself into town.”

Do you have a favorite song of any stripe, country or otherwise?

and i'm off to the rodeo...
Piss me off!! F*ckin' jerk - get on my nerves.....

This question is virtually impossible to answer. Are we basing this on lyrical content, musical content, vocal content, etc? If I had to think of one all time favorite songs it would have to be a Metallica song known as "Damage Inc.". I like all types of music but I answered this question based entirely on what popped into my head first.

By the way tortuga, Release is a beautiful song. You are correct.
