R.I.P. Ol' Buddy

Well, I laid a good friend to rest yesterday. My Brittany Spaniel died Sunday night. He was about 6 years old. I have attached a pic of him. He's the one on the left. We don't know if he got hit or what happened. I found him on the way to work Monday morning, And buried him yesterday. He was a good ol' dog, never bothered anybody, and never wanted for anything. He will be greatly missed, especially of the afternoon when he would race me down the driveway, and then wait for me on the back porch by his feed bowl. I'll miss ya buddy.

Man, I hate to hear that. It's like loosing one of the family for sure.
I had to have my ole Yellow Lab put down a couple of years ago, she was 13 and my constant companion. I knew she was ailing and a trip to the vet confirmed that she had multiple tumors and that there was nothing they could do. I took her home and let her take it easy for a few more months, but it finally came to the point where she just couldn't even get up anymore. The wife and I loaded her up in the back of the Xterra and drove her one last time to the Vet. He was kind and knew how much we were attatched to that ole dog, so he met us in the parking lot and we didn't have to put the old girl through the pain of moving her.
I'm not ashamed to admit that I cried like a baby, I loved that old dog and I still miss her.
We laid her to rest on the hill behind our house in a spot where she loved to lay in the shade and guard her family.
Hang in there TT, it'll get easier with time.

Sorry to here that, we have two cats and two dogs, all of which are our children, we haven't lost any since me and the wife have been married but we keep adding to them. I could imagine it would be difficult. I didn't realize if you saw it the service manager answered your question on your Exterra on the site next door. But back to animals, we are certain sorry to hear it, people really get attached to them, me included.

I'm very sorry to hear that. We had to have one of our three dogs put down last fall after 7 happy years. We are of the mindset that dogs are members of the family. Apparently most others around here feel the same.

Man that sucks. The only time I ever saw my dad shed a tear was when he was carrying our Akita who had been hit by a car to be buried. Hope things get better for you.

Very sad news my friend. I know how it feels to loose a pet and it does not feel good at all.
Go and adopt a new one and name it, Cotton Jr. That's what I did. Not only did it help fill the hole in my heart, it also felt good giving her a new home and getting her out of a cage. She's my new "Best Friend."

Tough seeing that, whether you are doing the carrying or someone else leading your dog away. I'll always remember my dad leading our first dalmatian away to the vet to be put down cause of arthritis (her daughter was led away for the same reason) and it means alot more now that I've just lost my father Monday morning. My thoughts and prayers are with you

Wow, I just feel terrible. I don't care how many times this happens it never gets easier. It also never stops me from getting another one. My wife says the pain is just a measure of the amount of joy they give. I think she's right.
