If you like war books and dogs.....

"Always Faithful" A memoir of the Marine Dogs of WWII.

by Captain William W. Putney

Brassey's INC.
Washington, DC

I had to special order it from Barnes and Noble. Took about a week. $14.95

Great book. I read alot of war books, especially WWII. This was a great book. Found out there is a War Dog Association in the area and am going to try to help, join, donate, whatever I can do. A company in the area makes "cool vests" for war dogs and police dogs (as well as humans), and donates them to the war effort.
Very very good book if you like dogs.
Covers how they obtained the dogs, weeded out the unwanted, trained them, transported them to war from NC to CA to the Pacific, life on station, how they helped in battle, memorials to them on Guam and other places and how our military treated them before, during and after the war. Even how they captured a enemy war dog and turned it into one of their own.
