Take the whole day. It's fun and you can buy beer and margaritas!!! We used the pass and for us it was worth it.

Never argue with idiots. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

The one here in Florida is an all day affair. It's definitely a fun place to go, especially if you are a movie buff. I wouldn't pay for the upgrade, as you will find out on a busy day, there is not much difference in wait times.

We go to the one in Florida often. It's entrance is right next to "Islands of Adventure" so there's two parks to go to. We stay right in Universal to make it easier and more fun for all. The one in Florida, you can easily spend 2 days in, maybe three to see EVERYTHING. If you have little ones in tow, they can tend to slow you down..lol.
You CAN do the park in one day but you'll miss alot and be rushed. Enjoy your trip!

Hey guys, how much time should one allow for going to Universal Studios California?
Is the priority pass worth it? The one that gets you better seating and first in line status...
Taking the Titan from SF Bay area to Southern California, first I-5 roadtrip, where everyone drives about 95+ on the way down...
It will probably take you the whole day. Most schools are out on summer vactation so you might see more than the usual amount of people. If you go on a mid-week day its better. Have fun.
There's a House of Blues there, I saw B.B. King play there a few years ago. I don't think there is a Margaritaville, but there is a Mexican restaurant of some kind, I remember blowing the froth off a few there with the old lady.
I was just there last Friday. There was a "fair" amount of people and we saw everything we wanted to. The priority pass is $99 and IMHO it isn't worth it if you have all day. The way the rides and shows are timed, it's almost impossible to see everything by closing time unless the place is empty. As many people as there were, everything went fairly quickly and the only ride that had a relatively long wait was Back to the Future (40 mins). If you go during the middle of the week, there should be less people. If you like steaks/bbq, my bro-in-law says Saddle Ranch Chop House has great food.
