Weekend Motorcycle Vacation TX

There are a few of us here in Houston, going on this little weekend testosterone fest Sept 16 for the whole weekend.
So if anyone wants to join up, your more than welcome, it doesn't cost much there are about 12 of us going..
Eric "the head" I'm looking in your direction!!
Go to koyoteranch.com for info.(for lodgeing)
This gonna be a no holds barred,no wife,no kids, macho freakin see who can crash the best fest!!
Most of us(99.5%) will be on sport bikes, knee draggin, beer drinkin(not at the same time.. although.......)
We have a 18ft enclosed for the bikes..
Personally I've been wanting to take this trip for a LONG TIME, had a few buddies do this and had a blast ..
Yes it's 2 mo away so make your reservations now to get a cabin..
So if you have a bike and have the WILL to take the prize(TBA) come on with your bad self..(and yes I've already had a few beer's)

Now the Koyote Ranch is just where we're gonna reside, our daily activites will most likely be divided into groups of ballzy and not so ballzy, depends on how you ride, so be realistic with your abilites.
THIS is gonna be alot of FUN!!

You plan on crashing a streetbike? I both moto and street ride and while im WFO on the dirt skizzle all the time, i dig deep to find my adult side while amongst joe public.

None the less, sounds like a blast. I always figured you and The Head for moto/ biker guys. Competition is key to remaining young at heart.

This would be hard for me to do since my R6 is track only. And I mean track only since there are no wiring or brackets for any lights. Take some pics. Stay out of trouble!

I'm an instructor for LSTD on the 29th. You going to be there to, um, "school me"?

D'oH!

Say you are-are you?!
Most guys on the boards are 'wanna-be' racers. I didn't expect to run into a Titan owner that actually rode a bike other than a cruiser.
I will be there Friday. The first half of the day I will be out at the carosel CW-ing and then riding the 2nd half. It was the only way to get into the track. I waited too long to sign up.
Thinking about it, my teammate is an 'instructor' too and he isn't that much faster than I am. Are you Jeff Grant fast or are you Tim Miller fast?
The truck is being freed from the body shop today in the hopes that I can go to a track without damaging it. Each race this year has come back with something wrong with it.

Uhh come talk to me when you got your white plate, and can still pull top ten in points and only run 70% of the season..

Last time I ran TWS was on a stock F3 with only .90 spring's and still ran 1:51's on the long track (2.9mi)
Usually ran 57's -59's on the SV

Iam however looking to transplant a F2 motor into a CB-1 frame I think it would make one heck of a classic class bike..
Sux to be broke and still want to race even after a few years of not being on the track

T1 is easy. Many people check up on the banking and wuus out. The problem child for me these past few years has been T3 and the carosel. Not enough corner speed.
I spent some quality time with Ty Howard at MSR one day and he showed me things to do that I never thought possible. I have yet to put them to use at TWS. Will have to see what I can do.
Oh, and the white plate comment, cute. Why not say something about my truck!?
Because I only endurance will mean that I will always have a yellow tag. Should I have enough time and money to sprint then maybe I would be able to earn the precious white tag. Many experts out there shouldn't have the tag themselves, likewise, there are many novices that are damn fast .
:51's? Yeah. I have seen that number. It is when other people pass me by.
Look forward to meeting you next Friday. Ask Mac to point me out.

Regards,

A mid packer, slower than you but faster than most!

OK one correction - Aug 29 is my next scheduled track day to instruct.
Nope, Jeff is definitely faster than me. I lost about 2 seconds a lap after my daughter was born. I'm not sure what my fastest lap on the R6 would be at TWS (no timer). I was running 1:50s with a TL1000S back in 2001 there as a first year expert. That thing was nothing but an exhaust, mapping, ride height adjuster on the rear (with the stock rotary damper) and Traxxion forks. I think the R6 is a much better bike. I'd have to guess but I might be able to run the same laps now as I did back then. I have been accused of running 1:49s but without a real timer I don't want to claim anything.

Max - you can run 51s with a F3 and only 57s on the SV? Dude you should be able to turn 55s on that SV. It needs more setup or something. I ran 55s with a couple of 54s "back in the day". Of course Falt and Bradley Champion were banging 51s and 52s then... That's what sucked the worst my am. year in 2000 for sprints - Bradley was also a yellow plate that year.

These days I've been endurancing a Metra Kit mini. Managed to turn 1:54s at Oak Hill with 12hp... I used to run about 1:32s on the SV there. Last time out with the R6 I really hosed the suspension up and need to go back and get more setup time. I think my best with it all messed up was only a 1:34 so I have some work to do on the Yamahammer.

Ohr

There is suppose to be a few guys going to Oak Hill Saturday to get some time in. I was going to go but have about 18" of grass to cut from all this rain.
Bradley is wicked fast on everything. I never saw a twin go that fast until I met him. We tried to recruit him for our team this year. Almost got him too!
Last year I was also running on a mini team in TMGP. That team got the championship while our big bike efforts only got us 3rd. We are in 3rd again now but just barely.
I do best when I have someone to chase. By the 3rd or 4th hour when I get on the bike the field is thinned out and all that is out there is your speed of riders and yellow shirts.
My task this year has been to get over the fear of passing people. I have had this issue with 'what if'. What if I make an error and take someone out? My entry speeds have come up so much thanks to Ty that my spacial perception is a bit-off. Must be what I look like to you and others when you come up on me! Never before have I complained about people parking it in the corners.
