Wow I didn't even know he was sick, I'm usually at work when the evening news is on. I would've never guessed he was in his 60s either.

Very Sad, you know when "famous people" die they go in 3's. I would not be surprised if in the next week or two we hear about another death in the ent./tv world.

there is one more in that 3-person equation, considering the Buena Vista Social Club bandleader just died a few weeks ago....now i'm starting to feel old since someone I grew up watching on TV has now died. really makes ya wonder who is next. just shows ya things happen when ya least expect it

I too was unlucky to discover that I had lung cancer (three years ago), but unlike Peter Jennings, mine was caught early early enough and with surgery, I'm cancer free.
As a Canadian born journalist, he always reported happenings in Canada that he felt would interest the million or so Canadians living in the USA.
He will greatly missed.
