Sentra 1.6 litre HELP

I know some of you guy's here like to play with these little cracker jack box car's..
This is my work car I drive it constantly, this thing needs MORE power CHEAP!!(it's so slow, it is literally dangerous)
I was thinking a small shot of NOS, cant really go the S/C or turbo route too much money..
And I really don't want to put one of those noisey fart can's on the car, I mean come on the thing only makes like 70hp does a noisey little can produce enuff power to justify that kinda noise??
I tried looking at a Sentra forum, just seemed to be a couple of kid's with little to no sense.
Thought I would just take a shot in the dark here...

Having been a owner of both a 1.6 and 2.0 liter Sentra I think I can help. Your best bet to free up some ponies on the Sentra are the usual bolt ons, exhaust, intake, headers, etc.
What year is it? I can recommend some sites once you give me some more info.

Well I guess it would depend on your budget. My guess is that a few of the mentioned bolt ons would do you just fine.

Exhaust: There are several choices in exhausts for the Sentra. My personal favorite, and the one I had on my 99 2.0 SE was made by Stromung. It was a nice deep sound, and not obnoxious like most of the exhausts you would hear on say Hondas. Also the drone was low. There are also companies like HKS, GReddy, Stillen, Borla, etc. Most exhausts will yield from 10-15hp depending on setup. You can go full cat-back, or just the rear section.

Headers: Stillen, Hot Shot...etc gains of probably 15hp

Intake: Again there are several selections, and price would most likely be the deciding factor. I personally had the Stillen intake with the K&N filter. It did the job, although I would have preferred a cold air intake as opposed to my shorty. Place Racing, AEM, Jim Wolf Technology are some that you can find for it. gains of probably 10hp or more

Here are a few websites that might help lead you in the right direction...
www.sentra.net
www.nissanforums.com (click on the Sentra forum, and then you would look in the GA16DE section in that)
www.jimwolftechnology.com
www.stillen.com
www.mossyperformance.com

If there are any other questions you have by all means ask...hopefully this helped some.

Nope, never did the port and polish...didn't want to waste any more money on the Sentra b/c I wanted to get rid of it.

Actually none. It's been a great little car. For some reason the piston rings seated properly on this one. I'm sure it had something to do with it being a lease and I drove it nice for the most part. It only has 25k miles too.

Thats damn good seeing as they had tons of problems with that engine. I know many who got rid of their Spec V /c of the oil consumption

Just got a set of OBX headers on ebay(new) for $84.. not bad..
they do have some no name CAI for like $35 shipped..
So, when I do the header install, do I have to have the FI re-mapped or chipped, or does it not matter?(i'm used to bikes not cars).

Nah you should be ok...I think it is old enough that there should not be an O2 bung or anything. My advice is do the whole exhaust at the same time you do the headers...will be a lot easier
