Question Audio file to MP3 file?????

I am not too good at this whole computer thing. I am trying to convert my CD's to MP3 files and con't seem to figure it out. I know I have done it before, but just can't remember. I have media player, roxio, and real player. Will any of these work? If you have any suggestions ao advice please reply.

Re: Audio file to MP3 file?????

Razorlame is a good front end for the Lame encoder.

http://www.dors.de/razorlame/index.php

EAC extracts raw audio data from the CD to make a wav file, then use Razorlame to encode the wav file to mp3. Be sure to use the stereo option and not the joint stereo option in Razorlame. I'm one of those nuts that encodes at least 256kbps for all my music, making for somewhat larger files.

Re: Audio file to MP3 file?????

Some of the free programs, such as Roxio, that were installed on your computer when you purchased it are stripped down.

This was the case with my Dell computer. It came with a version of Roxio that wouldn't rip MP3's. I had to purchase and then download a different version to be able to rip.

Re: Audio file to MP3 file?????

I bought the full version of Roxio, it works just fine, I make MP3 cd's all the time. Not the best program, but definitley does the job!!
I ended up converting my whole collection to the computer in MP3 so i don't scractch-up my originals anymore!!!
