Re: maxima headlights

The high-beams should be much brighter than the low-beams.....take your sunglasses off and try again.

man you are alot of help.i know some people saw this and thought he has lost his mind oh well.but as stupid as it might have sounded thats exactly the way the lights worked and i did find out why.this is my wifes car which i rarely drive but i have noticed that the lights on bright did not seem to be what they should be but driving in the city with all the street lights its not that noticable.well after looking alittle closer i found that on dim four lights are on and on bright their are only two lights on they are wired up backwards.between this car and my truck truck i think im going to move my mail box to the nissan dealership

Re: maxima headlights

what year maxima???

i know on the 6th gen (04-06) the fog's are right next to the bulbs. and of course when you turn on the highs the fogs cut out. but reguardless my 04 with HID's were bright when on low beams, but would give you a sun burn with the highs on.

Re: maxima headlights

are they HID's??

because if not when switched to highs and the projecter flap opens to allow all the light out it that might dim them but give greater coverage area

all of them have the flap, HID and halogen. i was just wondering if you had the HID's or not. they're all the same, the only difference is bulb type and the cover on the back of the assemblies themselves. plus the HID's have the ballast bolted to the bottom of teh assembly.

Re: maxima headlights

are we talkin about the 2004-up maxi's.if then the them cars have hids only low beam the night beam thight is just a fog light.nissan put the fog light on the inner side of the headlight hosing and the the hid is not a bi/xeon.so it has only one beam.so when you go to hid beams the hid is still on but the fog light comes on also.
