Talking Saw a Skyline last night!!

Well junior and I was coming back from visiting my mother-in-law in the hospital last night, and was stopping in Madison, AL to get some supper. I was trying to merge in order to get back on the interstate and this car wouldn't let me get over. So I decided to take another route. Got stopped by a red light at a major intersection and was sitting there waiting on the green light, and noticed what I thought was one of these rice burner tuner cars pulling up next to me in the turn lane. I glanced over and done a double take. Was that what I think it was? Was that a Nissan Skyline? I look again and yup it was a Skyline. I rolled down the window and just listened to the bad-*** sitting there idling. I almost juiced my britches. I noticed the passenger had his window down so I yelled "IS THAT A SKYLINE??" Driver replied "YEAH!!", I replied back "THAT IS ONE BAD-@SS CAR THERE BUDDY!!!" He replied "THANKS GOTTA GO." Apparently we had almost sat through a whole red-light talking and me drooling. He took off and all I can say is that is one sick @ss sounding car. I would had took a picture but the old camera phone took a great big Ole crap on me. So sorry for the teasing. No pics. Just thought I would share the story.

Peace out

Pretty cool!!

I saw one when I was in Vegas. I had no idea what it was, so I took a pic, of the rear end. I'd post it, but I'm at work, and I have no way to re-zise it....grrr

Re: Saw a Skyline last night!!

My buddy has a G35 with airbags for suspenion you can raise or lower with switches, Anyhew he was rac-driving fast on highway 80 through richmond (CA) hit the lip of the overpass a pop goes the tire bead-then one airbag popped then the other same-side-then used guardrail to stop the G35.
I told you that story to tell you this one:
the insurance company didin't total the car- they even put the airbags back on (i woulda used the stock sus.-Its a road car No?)
my bud is a skyline fan also so he bought the badges for the car and turned his g35 into a SKY
Is that faking the funk or is that cool?

Boring. I'd be more excited to see a real car.

Are we talking a "new" Skyline or the 2002 import? Did it look similar to these pictures?

0-60 of 3.8 and 180+ mph top speed is what they are shooting for. Real enough for me.

That's the new one, not the old one. The new one isn't on US streets yet, even in prototype form. The old one was 0-60 in 5.3, top speed of 155 for $90k. Where's the beef!

This is mustang GT territory, not even worth a vette driver giggle. A 350z or G35 sedan with an automatic is faster. The new one is nice. Its stats approach supercar status. If it is as modifyable as the original, it could be interesting.

I hear you there. For that kind of money I'd expect a bit more stock.

Nothing beats the new C6 Z06s bang for the buck. That thing is amazing stock.

The beef isn't in the stock numbers Black, the beef is the RB26 is one of the best engines ever produced. How does 700hp on stock internals sound plus it remains streetable.

and the r34's aren't 90k in japan, they cost 90k over here because we have to convert them to DOT specs to be road legal

Re: Saw a Skyline last night!!

Playstation says it's the best car in the world, and millions of kids sucked it down. Not saying its a bad car, its just not as great as the believers say. Its a big heavy coupe, and pretty much acts like one.

The Subaru WRX and Mitsu Lancer Evo used to have similar mystique, then they were imported. Cool cars, but no magic involved.
