Just curious if anyone has or has known anyone that has/had an American Bulldog and any input on them? Looking to get a co-pilot for the Titan (other than the wife)!
Thanks.

Theres been a couple post on this...one actual LONG one...I will look and post if I find...
I found some great dog posts, but nothing specific to American Bulldogs.
From what I read, they do need a firm/committed owner. That is actually what appeals to me. Some people don’t like training; I see that as the fun part.
My other two dog considerations are Rhodesian Ridgeback and Boxer.
Still researching.

I have been researching American Bulldogs for over a year now. I can't get one yet becauseof my work schedule ( I'm a firefighter and i'm gone for over 24 hours at a time).
I personally like the Johnson American Bulldog rather than the "Scott" type. Johnson are a little more "bully", slightly larger and just cool as hell. Here's some links.
I had a Bullmastiff but had to put her down. best dog i ever had. she was brindle 120lbs. I have a damn beagle now. But want am American bulldog now because they have a longer life span.

I've had Butkus for 7 years now, he's a big baby until you come into the backyard. Then a few barks and it's time to get it on...well that's what the Orkin man found out anyway.
Looked at getting one of these for the family and it turned out this was a no brainer as a way NOT to go. As mentioned earlier they need lots of attention and training - we need something like a 3yr Golden.
P.S. Look into a bulldog rescue group - they usually can give you the most info and can usually hook you up with a good dog living in a foster home. Do a websearch and you will find a few and it's better than going through a breeder or the pound.

hahahahahaha my beagle and that dang monkey would probly play so much would pass out hahaha
He likes other animals, but most other animals don't like him. He plays way to rough for most other animals. We have one cat that likes to play rough with him. He really likes to drag the cats around by the tail.

My wife stays home, and he gets along great with both my kids 6 and 10. He also gets along with everyone else, I bring him with me all the time and he loves playing with kids. A monkey does not make a good pet if he is going to be left alone all day every day. They are way to social of an animal to be alone all the time.
