Motor Trend Truck of The Year

Ok first off....this was the most lame comparison I have ever seen...and MT Car/Truck/Suv/Penis/ of The Year crap keeps getting worse and worse.

Ok for starters on the competition. Ram 1500 QC Hemi, Ram 2500 TooBigCab Cummins, Isuzu Canyonero/Coloboro, Mitsudodge Raider, Lincoln Mark F150, and baaaaarrrrrffff Honda Ridgeline.

This has to be the most boring and useless TOTY I have seen...ok sure, the Honda is a new type of truck and wowwee it has cubby holes everywhere. But come on, no V8 and the gas mileage is the same as V8's it competes with? and lets look at price...base is 27k...loaded is around 35k...27k-35k with only a 245hp V6?? And how did the Ram 1500 QC get in there? New truck they say....why because they finally sured up the frame a little and changed the headlights? Come on...what a stretch. Such a lame test.

Now, now, Marc. Holding your true feelings in is a sure way to end up with a nervous breakdown. Don't hold back. Let it out. Tell us how you really feel. You'll feel better for it...

Basically, MT looks to be stretching it a little since the Ridgeline is about the only "new" truck around (if it can be called that...). The rest are all slight modifications to existing, not really new. But hey, they need to justify their existence somehow, right?

Re: Motor Trend Truck of The Year

Remember, Truck of the year for these guys is newly introduced trucks only. If you are in year two of production, you don't qualify. Kinda BS.
Here's the real test.

Re: Motor Trend Truck of The Year

Truck Tred Rated the Titan Best Pickup 2005 and the Ridgeline wasn't even included in that test, Truck Trend is Part of Motor Trend, I don't know how the Ram 1500 got into this test, all they really did was change the grill and front headlights.

I am pretty sure the frame is new and interior also...I still would take the Ram over the Ridgeline any day

Re: Motor Trend Truck of The Year

Can someone explain how in the trucktrend comparisons it shows the the titan 0 to 90 at 16.7 and the tundra at 17.9 which is a pretty big difference but shows the titan in the 1/4 at 15.6 at 89.7 mph and the tundra right their at 15.7 at 88.2 mph.Does not make since at all

Gotta be a typo. I'd guess its 0-100, which is what they generally do, and the tundra should have been much slower in the quarter.
