Is it your truck, or your dogs truck?

Just wanted to see how many of ya'll out there let your dog ride and if so what breed is your dog? I have a 3 year old long haired female German Shepherd that likes the Titan more than I do Can't blame her because her old truck was a single cab. She now has the whole back seat of the crew cab to lounge and fuss at people and other dogs from both sides and the back.
Seat covers will be a necessity!

Re: Is it your truck, or your dogs truck?

I live in Texas and work in Tn., I drive back and forth twice a month and I have a gray, longhaired cat that travels with me. His name is "skittles" but he's also know as "fat freddy" and will answer to "knucklehead" as long as I'm opening a can of NineLives. He's a pain in the arse and I keep threatening him that I'm gonna dump him off at a truckstop someday......someday!

I have an 8 year old Lab. I let him ride in the back of the CC on the way to the lake. On the way home, he rides in the bed, enclosed by an ARE Z shell.

This is my 6 year old Fox Terrier. When home on the ranch she lives in my old Toyota. When i drive the Titan she sits in the front passenger seat. i have to explain to my human passengers that if they want to sit in the front seat they will have to hold Susie in their lap or sit in the back. The front seat is hers!

I have a 4 year old Greyhound that found it was easier to ride than to run. He likes to sleep in the truck even when its parked in the driveway.

Re: Is it your truck, or your dogs truck?

I get a kick watching my wife's old, fat black lab try his darnedest to jump into the back of my Titan....after several failed attemps, he looks at me with his old, sad eyes and then what do I do? Pick his fata$$ up and put him in, of course.

Re: Is it your truck, or your dogs truck?

I got an almost 5 year old Weimeraner that has no problem taking rides in the truck. This is his (my) 3rd Nissan truck. He has taken summer and winter trips 3 times (2,700 miles round trip each time) once in an 02 Xterra and twice in the Titan. He has gone in my old 02 Frontier to a truck meet in Tampa which is the other side of the state for me. He rides almost everywhere we go, as long as I don't have to leave him in the truck during hot weather.
Heres a couple of pics that best show his association with trucks.

Yeah, mine is the same way. Her ears perk up just hearing the keychain dangle. Needless to say she is at the truck waiting before I even get the door to the house closed. I usually take her everywhere I go also unless I know I will have to leave her in the truck unattend for more than an hour. She also hangs her head low when I tell her she has to stay home. Funny how much personality a dog can have.

My oldest son (10yo Daschund) goes everywhere with me except work it seems. He does have alot more trouble getting in and out of this big Ram than he did my Dakota and Chebby before this though.

Yea, I know... let the "Weiner-Hemi" jokes begin...

Re: Is it your truck, or your dogs truck?

I took my dog ridin in the Titan for the first time yesterday... I think she was scared though, she peed on the rear floor mats Couldn't be mad though, right after she did it she had these huge "I'm sorry eyes" and her ears were lowered, just couldn't stay mad.

She is a 1 year old beagle by the way, and hasn't quite figured out yet that the truck means road trips and fun are in store

I have a 1.5 yr old Bluetick Coonhound that insists on riding with me everywhere I go. If I leave her behind she crys and howls until I return....

This is the only pic I could find on my work computer....sorry for the crappy camera phone pic.....

Re: Is it your truck, or your dogs truck?

I guess it is my fault for the monster I created. I would take my dog riding since she was just a fur ball that would fit in one hand. She actually expects to go ride with me when I leave. Now I have a 90 pound beast that not only insists on riding in the truck, but begs me to put her on the 4-wheeler when I ride too.

Fantastic dog...my baby used to own whatever vehicle we were in.

I, like you, had pure bred long haired shep....used to be stopped and asked if she was a show dog...

Her pic is my avatar.
